The kitchen light was dim compared to the other rooms in the house.
Akhil stepped inside, looking around, but it was empty. He was about to leave when a shadow in the corner caught his eye. His hand went behind, gripping his gun.
Slowly, he moved closer, his steps careful, until he was just a step away.
The shadow moved, and the person turned around.
"What you are doing here?" he asked in a low voice.
"Mujra kar rahi hu, wanna join?"
Advika replied casually, taking a big bite of cake. Her cheeks puffed up, making her look both innocent and annoyed at the same time.
Akhil rolled his tongue against his cheek, holding back his irritation. Advika, as usual, ignored him and went back to eating.
He stepped closer, standing just behind her. She froze when she felt his warm breath on her neck. Her throat moved as she swallowed nervously, and she turned her head slightly to look at him.
His face was so close to hers, their breaths mixing in the heavy silence. His intense eyes locked onto hers, holding her in place. Her heart raced, and for a moment, it felt like the world had disappeared, leaving just the two of them in this charged moment.
Akhil's hand moved to her waist, his warm touch making her shiver. Slowly, he pushed aside her dupatta, exposing her stomach. His hand moved over her soft skin, stopping just above her navel. His eyes stayed on hers, dark and full of things he didn't say, but his touch told her everything.
She gripped the spoon tightly, but when his fingers lightly touched her navel, a shaky moan escaped her lips. Embarrassed, she shut her eyes tightly, trying to stay in control.
Akhil smirked, clearly enjoying her reaction.
"Fuck, wildflower, you look too good with this expression,"
He said softly, his voice full of teasing and control.
Her eyes shot open, and she was about to say something when another sound left her lips. This time, his face dipped into her neck, his lips brushing against her skin. He kissed her lightly, his touch both torturing and teasing her."Next time, think before you speak, jaan," he whispered against her neck. "Or else, the consequences will be worse. And trust me, you'll enjoy it... and I'll enjoy watching"
Akhil's phone rang, making her sigh in relief. Before letting her go, he leaned in and slightly sucked on her neck, planting a kiss there. A shiver ran down her spine.
He picked up the call and walked out, leaving her to exhale deeply. She leaned against the counter, her gaze falling on the plate still in her hand.
"Divya, I won't spare you," she muttered under her breath.
Just then, a message popped up on her phone. She picked it up from the counter, and as she read the text, a smile adorned her lips. All her anger evaporated into thin air.
"I miss you," she whispered softly, her eyes glued to the screen.
"Happy engagement, Muffin."

Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉✨
I hope you all have a wonderful and beautiful year ahead. This year brings you all the happiness and success you deserve.I’m really sorry for the late updates. My college has started, and with lots of assignments and work, it’s been hard to find time to write. As part of my New Year’s resolution, I’ve decided to be more consistent with updates.
However, I have upcoming exams, so I might only be able to update every two weeks for now. I’ll do my best to stay regular. I hope you’ll understand and continue to support me. 🥹
Wishing you all an amazing year! 💖
