I stare at the letter Jack handed me, giving it a more calm look

I stare at the letter Jack handed me, giving it a more calm look. I read it again, this time with greater attention starting from the top right side where I notice the date: January 21, 2017  which is the same day I had received the letter from my father. Jack must have received it at the same time as I did. Yet, the letter was still addressed to me: "Dear Anna," and it ended with "Love, J." at the bottom. It had the same exact handwriting as the letter I had received. Even after re-reading it, I still couldn't understand why Jack had received the same letter as I had, or his connection to my father and the entire mess we were caught up in. I needed time to process it, but I barely managed to comprehend anything before a low growl worked its way up from my stomach.

"You must be hungry." Jack lets out a low chuckle while scavenging the study we were in for more candles. He finds another and lights it, holding it in his hands.

"Food is the last thing I am thinking about," in truth I was not even aware of my hunger until my stomach manifested.

He turns around and says, "your stomach begs to differ."

"I am not.." and yet another louder growl follows suit before I could deny my so obvious hunger.

Jack just laughs in return. Seeing him laugh like this, almost makes him look so different from the normal stuck up act, he just looks so innocent like a little boy laughing.

"Let's grab something to eat, I doubt we will be able to fend for ourselves much longer here." He begins heading towards the door and turns back to look at me and say.

"I wouldn't want leaving Princess starving to death" Jack adds and gives me off one of his devilish smirks as if he is being sarcastic and in fact would not mind leaving me off to fend for myself and die of hunger. It is difficult to think that Jack is someone any different, and yet I catch him off his character as if all of this is just a facade. For now I ignore those thoughts, because the more time I spend with him, the more I am reminded that I am just losing my grip on what is right in front of me. A deceitful stuck up guy who I should not trust.

"Are you going to come or stand there staring at me Princess?" he asks in a annoyed tone while keeping his smirk on.

I snap out of my thoughts.

"But won't we be unsafe going out of this place and into the public?" I ask, unsure how we are even going to get food since a whole "group", as Jack like to put it, is out there looking for me.

"I know a place not too far from here where we can get very nice meal and we won't call for much attention. We are very remote." and he adds on "but we must dress like the part, otherwise we won't be able to enter in the state we are in"

I look at him confused as to how we are going to "dress like the part" when we are in the middle of nowhere, with no running water or light, without a change of clothes, since I left my suitcase back in the hotel.
