What I am trying to cultivate is not blind optimism... But radical hope.

With her headphones on, Cynthia was dead to the world. Something that was much needed at that point in time. Just because the world was falling apart didn't mean her grades also had to. Nox was off with Sky, who was doing Specialist training. Cynthia was alone in her own peaceful world.
She was, however, jolted out of her reverie by her door being pushed open.
Looking up, she can see Terra standing in the doorway. Lent against the door frame.
"Some of us are heading to the Grapevine, fancy joining?"
"Yeah," Cynthia nods. "That would be nice. I am sure the break would do me good."
"Great." Terra grins before leaving the room.
Grabbing her phone, Cynthia sees a missed text from Sky telling her that Rosalind is out and that a group of them is heading to the pub if she fancies joining.
She replies to tell him she's coming with her suite and that she will meet him and Nox at the pub.
Checking her watch, Cynthia heads to her closet. She changes out of the comfortable clothing she was wearing and into something appropriate for the outside world before heading out to join her suitemates.
"You coming, Stella?" Cynthia calls as she steps out.
"As if I'm giving the commoners the satisfaction of seeing a princess in a gross, dingy pub," Stella calls before pausing. "Have fun."
"We will," Cynthia assures her, entering Stella's room. Do you want me to stay, or do you want some alone time?"
"Alone time, please," Stella murmurs as Cynthia drops a kiss on the top of her head.
"Text me if you need anything," Cynthia tells her as she leaves, heading off with the others.
When they get to the bar, it is alive with the sound of music and other students. All chatting.
As she steps in, Cynthia immediately spots Sky, making a beeline for him as Nox trots over to her. Bending down she gives the affectionate dog some fuss before finally standing up to greet her boyfriend, who has a fond smile on his face as he pulls her into him.
"I don't think we have had the chance to relax as normal students since the term started." Sky laughs. Placing a kiss on her lips.
"Ah, but where is the fun in that." Cynthia laughs. Smiling up at him.
Fondly shaking his head, Sky wraps his arm around Cynthia's waist. Hugging her to him.
The two stand next to each other. Pressed up against each other as they watched the others around them. It had started sensible but quickly descended into chaos as everyone let off some steam after all the stress that Rosalind, school and their impending doom had been giving them.
