News Years After Party🤍

The Cameron estate was quiet, a stark contrast to the buzzing chaos of last night's New Year's Eve party. Sunlight streamed through the massive windows, illuminating the aftermath of a celebration well-spent: half-empty champagne glasses on the counters, stray confetti scattered across the floors, and a couch pillow that had mysteriously found its way into the fireplace (thankfully untouched by flames).

You stretched in bed, the soft sheets tangled around you. Rafe was still asleep beside you, his face half-buried in the pillow, hair mussed in a way that made him look unfairly adorable. You smiled, brushing a hand over his back.

"Rafe," you whispered, trying to coax him awake. "It's already late morning."

He groaned, pulling the blanket over his head. "Five more minutes, love."

You rolled your eyes, leaning down to press a kiss to his exposed shoulder. "You promised we'd clean up before my friends came back for brunch."

At that, he peeked out from under the blanket, one eye squinting open. "I said we?"

"Yes, we. As in you and me," you said, sitting up and poking his side.

He groaned dramatically but eventually sat up, rubbing his face with his hands. "Fine, but only because I don't want Sarah and Kie judging me for the mess."

The two of you headed downstairs, laughing at the state of the house. Topper and Kelce had clearly gotten into some shenanigans; a trail of feathers from a burst throw pillow led to the backyard, where an inflatable flamingo bobbed lazily in the pool.

Rafe stopped in the kitchen, grabbing two mugs and filling them with coffee. He handed you one, his other arm wrapping around your waist. "Here. Coffee first, then cleanup."

You took a sip, grateful for the warmth. "You're lucky you're cute, Cameron."

He smirked, leaning down to kiss your forehead. "I'm more than cute, love."

As the two of you tidied up, Sarah and Kie arrived, looking surprisingly put-together for having partied just as hard the night before.

"You guys survived?" Sarah teased, stepping over a pile of confetti as she entered the kitchen.

"Just barely," you said, tossing a crumpled streamer into a trash bag.

Kie laughed, grabbing a broom to help. "Honestly, this place doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Props to you guys for not burning the house down."

Rafe shot her a mock-offended look. "Wow, such faith in me."

"You know it's warranted," Sarah quipped, grabbing a dustpan.

By midday, the house was mostly back to normal. The four of you collapsed onto the couch, exhausted but content.

"Okay, who's brilliant idea was it to host brunch the day after a massive party?" Rafe asked, his head resting on your lap.

"Yours," you reminded him, running your fingers through his hair.

He groaned. "Why do I do this to myself?"

"Because you like showing off," Sarah said with a grin.

"Well, the food's ready," Kie announced, standing and stretching. "So let's eat before we all pass out again."

The rest of the day passed in a blur of food and laughter. Topper and Kelce eventually showed up, much to everyone's amusement, wearing sunglasses indoors and nursing bottles of water like they were lifelines.

"You guys look awful," you teased as they shuffled into the dining room.

"We feel worse," Topper muttered, collapsing into a chair.

Kelce groaned. "Next year, no tequila."

Rafe smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Next year, you'll say the same thing and still bring a bottle."

The table erupted into laughter, and for a moment, it felt like the party hadn't ended at all.

Later that evening, when the house was quiet again, you and Rafe sat on the couch, sharing the last slice of leftover cake.

"Not a bad start to the year," he said, leaning back and pulling you into his side.

"Not bad at all," you agreed, resting your head on his shoulder.

He kissed the top of your head, his voice soft. "Here's to another year of chaos, love."

You smiled, feeling nothing but warmth and contentment as you looked ahead to the adventures that awaited.
