Morning After"

The golden rays of the Hawaiian sun streamed through the sheer curtains of Angel’s room, gently waking her. She stretched lazily, her mind replaying the events of the previous night—the laughter, the stolen glances, and the way Shubman had danced with her under the moonlit sky.

It was magical, yet confusing. She could feel her heart racing whenever she thought of him, but she wasn’t sure if he felt the same.

A soft knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. Angel sat up quickly, smoothing her hair before calling out, “Who is it?”

“It’s me, Shubman.”

Her heart skipped a beat. She stood up, hesitating for a moment, then walked to the door and opened it.

Shubman stood there, dressed casually in a white T-shirt and shorts, holding two cups of coffee. His boyish smile made her stomach flutter. “Good morning. Thought you might need this,” he said, handing her a cup.

“Thanks,” she replied, her voice softer than usual. She stepped aside, letting him in.

Shubman walked to the small balcony, the ocean view stretching endlessly before them. “I hope I didn’t wake you too early,” he said, leaning on the railing.

Angel joined him, the salty breeze brushing her face. “Not at all. I was already awake.”

They stood there in comfortable silence, sipping their coffee. After a few moments, Shubman spoke, his tone uncharacteristically serious. “Last night was...something, wasn’t it?”

Angel turned to look at him, her brows furrowing slightly. “What do you mean?”

He met her gaze, his eyes searching hers. “I mean, being with you—it felt different. Like, it wasn’t just another party or another night.” He hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. “Angel, I’ve been wanting to tell you something for a while now.”

Her heart thudded in her chest. “Go on,” she urged, trying to keep her voice steady.

“I like you, Angel,” he confessed, his voice firm but vulnerable. “I’ve liked you since the day we met on that flight. You’re...different. You’re real. And being with you makes everything else—cricket, fame, all of it—fade away. It’s just you.”

Angel stared at him, her breath catching. She set her coffee cup down and stepped closer. “Shubman,” she began, her voice trembling, “I like you too. I’ve been trying to hide it, but I can’t anymore. You make me feel...alive. Like I can be myself, without pretending.”

Relief and joy washed over his face as he closed the distance between them. “I was so scared you didn’t feel the same,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.

“Well, now you know,” she said with a shy smile.

He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “So, what do we do now?”

Angel laughed softly, her cheeks flushing. “I guess we figure it out, one day at a time.”

“Together,” Shubman added, his hand slipping into hers.

As the waves crashed against the shore, the two stood on the balcony, their hearts finally aligned. In the midst of the Hawaiian paradise, they had found something far more extraordinary—a love that promised to soar.
