AN: Hello, welcome back to my brain death. So this chapter will be interesting. There is a little bit of cussing involved. Sigry and Alex, I like to think they were very alike when they were younger. Yes I am aware that Devil's gap is technically the entire circle in that little area of the map (if that makes sense). But, at this point you should know, I don't care for keeping things too canon compliant. That's why I write fanfiction for fuck's sake. Anyway, things I should explain. Wait, what is this?!?!? Did Yellowlab explain basically anything you need to know IN the chapter? No, shit. Well what you need to know is Yellowlab decided that Caroline is a Hightower. Anyways, enjoy!
Sigry rubbed her forehead as she tried to read the writing. It was not Jorvigian, or any other familiar language.
"What language do you think this is?" Elizabeth asked, as she pulled out ranch and was that cheese crisps?
"What are you doing?" Eva questioned.
"It's Alex's favorite snack," Elizabeth said innocently.
"She knows what's up," Sigry chuckled.
"Sigry, no," Eva said.
Elizabeth chuckled.
"Ranch is the superior condiment and cheese crisps are cheesy and delicious." Sigry said.
Eva shook her head, chuckling. Elizabeth poured some cheese crisps in a bowl and put ranch into another. The door creaked open about five minutes later.
"I'm home Elizabeth!" A voice called, there was a small pause but then the voice told herself,
"Idiot, she's not home."
There were short trudging footsteps before a short young woman walked into the kitchen head down. She had light brown hair and an orange beanie. She wore a blue flannel jacket and jeans.
"Alex, you're not an idiot." Elizabeth said.
The young woman's head darted up. Her instincts must have kicked in because in one move she had swung off her bag and tossed it at Elizabeth. Alex was fast but Elizabeth was faster. She disappeared into a portal and reappeared behind Alex. Elizabeth wrapped her arms around Alex's torso and neck.
"Easy Alex, It's actually me," Elizabeth whispered soothingly. She whispered something unheard to the others into Alex's hair. Elizabeth loosened her grip on Alex. Alex immediately turned and wrapped her arms around Elizabeth in a tight hug, her face curled into Elizabeth's neck.
"Elizabeth," Alex sobbed, "you're okay!"
"Yes, I am," Elizabeth whispered, rocking back and forth.
Elizabeth kissed Alex's cheek in a gentle motherly way. They stood there, Alex sobbing with joy and Elizabeth just holding her. It took a while until Alex had finally calmed down.
"Alex, these are some of my sisters. Eva my Star Sister and Sigry my Lightning Sister." Elizabeth said.
"Hey kiddo, how's it going?" Sigry said.
"I'm good now." Alex said, offering a little smile, still clinging to Elizabeth. "How are you?"
"I'm good, thanks for asking. Though I sure would like to be able to read this." Sigry said.
Alex unwrapped herself from Elizabeth and walked over.
"Oh, um, where did you get this?" Alex questioned.
"From two Vala witches." Elizabeth answered.
"Yeah, that's my handwriting and Valan, so it's doubly hard probably. I can tell you what it actually says if you give me a minute to translate," Alex said.
