The Fallen Sisterhood

Chapter 9

AN: Hello! I got multiple notes here to talk about so strap in and get ready. First off, Gilbert Firelight will be making a longer appearance, he is the stepdad of Eiren, Maxy, and their older brother who has yet to make an appearance as well as the father of thirty nine year old Sive. We will have a longer moment with him in a future chapter where we get to see more of his loving grandfatherly side as well as his valiant protector side. Small, not very important note, I love the word mustachioed, it makes me happy. Next thing I wish to touch on is Pandoric hounds. They are creatures of Pandoria who harness the power of the circles. They are the apex predators, Pandorians fear them. There are seven known variants (all seven will eventually make their appearance), Dew hound, Sun hound, Moon hound, Star hound, Lightning hound, and Flame hound. A Flame hound will make his appearance in this chapter. I created a theory about what the crap is going on with Mistfall (the show), which is that there was a sixth circle called the Flame Circle (more lore on that later). So Mistfall happens just before the start of the player arriving. Skye's mom is named Keegan, which we will get more information on her later. Skye and her mom have just moved back to Jorvik and a future interaction with Skye is imminent. Later I mention a book called Cats and Cocaine. It is completely made up and if there is a series called that it's purely by coincidence and I might need to read it. Last note, Caroline is the daughter of Sigrid and Jonas Hightower. Enjoy!

When Caroline opened her eyes, she was expecting the pinks and purples of Pandoria. Instead the room was bone white. There was a beeping sound somewhere. The object that had been lodged in her stomach was gone. Caroline glanced around, realizing she was in a hospital room. She had been rescued! In a nearby seat sat a woman with sunbeam yellow hair. She was knitting something in her lap. The bag beside her was full of multiple different types and colors of yarns. She was much older than the last time Caroline had seen her, as was Caroline herself.

"Lizzie?" Caroline whispered.

Elizabeth's head darted up and she jumped slightly in her seat, before throwing back her head and laughing.

"Caroline," Elizabeth gasped, her accent gone, another testament to how much time had passed, "you scared me. Here let me go get a nurse, they told me to get someone once you fully woke up."

Elizabeth set aside her bundle and stood. She walked out and came back in, a nurse following her.

After a few "housekeeping matters" (as the nurse put it) she left to go phone Caroline's family that she was awake.

"Where's Maxy and Jupiter?" Caroline asked.

"Maxy is in the next room over and Jupiter is being spoiled by Sigry." Elizabeth answered.

"How are the others?"

"They'll each be taking turns here so I'll let them tell you their details. I am doing well, living with Avalon and our not quite adopted daughter, Alex." Elizabeth said.

"And what about Cathy?" Caroline asked, praying that she was okay.

Elizabeth's gentle green eyes became anguished. When she finally spoke it was quiet, "She went missing nineteen years ago, after the birth of her baby boy. She was assumed dead. But we know she's not. So we are looking with all our might. I got the druids in on the search. The Vala are looking as well. We'll find her."

"Seems like I have a new goal as soon as I get out of here," Caroline said, setting her jaw in determination. "How long has it been?"

"Thirty years."

"My family?"

"Your sister got married to a Jorvik City cop and has three kids. Your brother has a young girl. Your parents still live on the old farm on South Hoof." Elizabeth told her.
