AN: Y'all, I am so sorry for the delay 💀 I keep forgetting to tell you guys there's an official tumblr account I'll put it in the end. I have a post there explaining why this is so late.
This chapter is short, but don't worry I'll be posting an extra chapter on the twelfth in honor of my birthday. The only notes I got for this chapter is that the timeline may be confusing. In my head Madison is 8, the first video takes place when she is a small six year old who just moved in with her grandparents.
The video began playing. The girl in the video seemed to be about five or six.
"Hi aunty," the girl adjusted her seating, "I learned about you when I was playing in the attic. You seem like a cool person. Grandpa says that you left, that they haven't heard from you in years. Grandma and Daddy started crying when I asked about you. I wanna meet you someday. I'm tell you about myself! Hi my name is Madison, I like horses, music, and playing video games with my Daddy! My real mommy died two years ago. But Mommy came into our lives a year ago. She's amazing!" Madison started bouncing up and down in her chair. "We moved in with Grandma and Grandpa about six months ago. Grandma is homeschooling me, but all the stuff she teaches is sooooooo easy and boring. I understand it already."
Caroline snorted, she understood that feeling. The next few videos were more of Madison talking about how she and her mom had gone to see some friends of her mom's. She talked about her new best friend. In another one (where she appeared to be eight) she spoke on how she had made friends with Kamilla Raincat. An eighteen year old horse person who did all sorts of work with horses (and worked with the "Baroness Aunty!"). She talked about how she and Kamilla went on a super secret spy mission to save Nightdust, king of the horses! She said she would tell Caroline all about it when she came home. Caroline smiled, Madison reminded her so much of herself. She also talked about how she had made friends with a Tupandactylus named Crimsoncrest and someone named Ross had taught her how to ride. Caroline wrote it off as active kid imagination
But in the most recent video, that was interesting.
"AUNTY!" She screeched, "I saw on the news you were going to be home soon! I can't wait to meet you! Daddy says that he would like to show these videos to you so I'm making a special one. I can't wait for you to come home, Grim has been watching over me like you asked him to. I'm making a present for when you return. Um anyway, bye!"
The videos ended there.
"I like her," Caroline said, looking at Maxy.
"Agreed," Maxy responded. "You'll be seeing her next Monday. Are you excited?"
"Fuck yeah!" Caroline cheered.
