𝐇𝐀𝐘𝐋𝐄𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓 𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐔𝐏 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄 and Deena had been blowing it up since leaving the dorms. She always picked up. No matter how busy or late the pack kept her up, time was no obstacle when it came to her sire. She would even give a heads-up that she would call back once available.

Which she never did.

Dr. Armborn also wasn't picking up her calls. There wasn't a scheduled session today and assumed she was with another patient, so Deena decided to head to Erik's place. It wasn't but a ten-minute walk. All the time needed to cool her shit and the voices in her head.

Laughter from a group of friends was heard hanging by the fountains on campus. It echoed around her head, so close and direct, Deena was sure they were laughing at her. But they paid her no mind.

What has gotten into me?

She searched through her phone and pulled up Quinn's contact. Typing and retyping and deleting everything when nothing translated well. Maybe she should leave her be for a while? Hideout at Erik's for the time being until the twins were finished. Maybe Dr. Armborn could help—

A light breeze flushed against Deena's right side where Roman appeared. She flinched, never getting used to vampire speed especially with her family, and he caught that. "Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." He apologized.

Deena merely checked his hands—clean. No tattoo. No brand. Although, it was quite dark and the dimmed lighting didn't help.

"What do you want?"

Her tone was colder than intended but didn't apologize for it or switch up. They hadn't talked since the party and any attempt was mostly avoided, or he'd coward away whenever she was present.

"Wanted to check up on you. See how you were doing." Roman said. "What happened back there wasn't pretty. I mean, I'm not one to judge, but I wouldn't pick a public place to dump a body."
