Millie

I sat quietly on my bed, my mind racing, yet completely blank at the same time. The room felt suffocating with the weight of the decisions I had made, the decisions that had led me to leave Taehyung and our marriage behind. It had only been a day since I came home, yet the reality still felt so unreal.

Just as I thought I might finally be left alone with my thoughts, a knock at the door startled me.

"Come in," I called, expecting it to be one of my parents.

To my surprise, the door creaked open to reveal Jungkook. His face was a mixture of concern and confusion, his eyes scanning mine like he was searching for something, maybe for answers.

"Millie," he said softly, his voice laced with worry, "What's going on? Why did you come home like this all of a sudden?"

I felt my throat tighten, and a lump formed as I struggled to find the right words. I didn’t know how to explain it, where to even begin. But as I looked into his gentle eyes, I felt a sense of comfort. I took a deep breath, and the words spilled out, raw and unguarded.

"Taehyung... he told me to leave," I whispered, my voice breaking slightly. "I was never anything more than a tool to get back at my family. He doesn't care about me at all. He only married me because of you... because he blamed you for Ava's condition. It was all for revenge."

Jungkook stood frozen, shock evident on his face. His voice shook with disbelief. "And you never told me any of this? Why did you stay with him for so long?"

I lowered my gaze, feeling the weight of my decisions pressing on me. "I thought... I thought he cared. I wanted to believe it, but now I see the truth."

He took a step toward me, his arms opening as he enveloped me in a tight hug. The warmth of his embrace was comforting, a refuge from the storm of emotions inside me. My face buried in his shoulder, I allowed myself to lean into him, feeling a sense of peace I hadn't felt in so long.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook murmured, his voice full of guilt. "This happened because of me. Because of everything between me and Taehyung, you had to go through all of this."

His words stung, even though I knew they weren't meant to hurt. I pulled away slightly to look at him, wiping away a tear that had fallen down his cheek. "No, Jeon, it’s not your fault," I said, my voice steady but gentle. "None of this is on you. I’m okay now. I’m here, and I’m with all of you. I just want to forget everything that happened."

His eyes welled up with tears again, and I could see the conflict inside him — the sadness, the relief, and the regret. He nodded, trying to smile through the emotion that still clung to him.

"Where are you going?" he asked as I stood up.

I looked at him and managed a small smile, even though my heart still ached. "You remember my favorite place, don't you?"

Jungkook raised an eyebrow. "The Dongsan Bridge?"

I nodded, feeling the calming thought of the bridge settle in my chest. The peaceful view of the Han River, the quiet stillness—it always helped me sort through my feelings. I needed that right now.

"I’ll go by myself," I said quietly. "I need some time alone." He hesitated. "So you can cry by yourself? Millie, please don’t be alone."

I shook my head gently. "This is the last time, Jeon. I need to let it all go. I need to forget everything... even that I loved him."

His face softened with understanding, but I could see the worry still lingering. "Just take care of yourself, okay?"

I gave him a small, reassuring nod before leaving, the weight of everything I’d just said and felt settling deeper within me.

Taehyung

My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as I drove to Millie's house, my heart pounding in my chest. Every mile that brought me closer to her felt like an eternity. I didn't know how to make things right, or what I could say to her, but I knew I had to try. I had to apologize, at least try to undo the damage I had caused.

When I pulled up to her house, I saw Jungkook standing at the door. He seemed lost in thought, but as soon as he saw me, his expression changed to one of shock. He stared at me for a long moment, confusion written across his face.

I got out of the car, my legs feeling unsteady as I walked toward him. My heart thudded painfully in my chest, and I felt my eyes well up with unshed tears. My emotions were spilling over, but I couldn’t stop them. I was a mess, and I didn’t care.

I stepped closer to him, took a deep breath, and let it all out. Without a word, I threw my arms around him, hugging him tightly. He stiffened at first, completely caught off guard, but after a few seconds, his arms hesitantly wrapped around me.

We stood there, holding each other in silence, and for the first time in a long while, I felt some of the tension ease. I wasn’t sure why, but it felt like something had shifted.

When I pulled away, my chest tightened again. I looked up at Jungkook, tears streaming down my face. "I'm so sorry, Jungkook. For everything. For the way I treated you... I was wrong."

He stared at me for a moment before shaking his head. "No, Taehyung, it’s okay. I know why you did it. I know it wasn’t easy, and I understand what Ava’s situation did to you. And thank god now you know everything."

But I couldn’t accept that. "No, it's not okay," I said hoarsely, my voice breaking. "I was wrong. And I’m sorry for everything. I was blind, and I hurt so many people... especially Millie."

Jungkook’s expression softened. "I accept your apology, Taehyung. I'm just glad you're okay. And... I’m happy that we can be brothers again. Like before."

I nodded, but my thoughts were elsewhere. "Where is Millie? I need to talk to her."

Jungkook's face darkened slightly, his expression filled with concern. "She’s upset. Whenever she feels this way, she goes to that one place she loves."

"Where is that?" I demanded urgently, my heart racing again. "Dongsan Bridge," Jungkook replied quietly. I felt a rush of determination. "I have to go to her."

"Taehyung," Jungkook said, stepping closer, "Just tell her how you feel. Tell her everything. It’s the only way to make things right."

I nodded, a new resolve settling in me. I wasn’t going to let her go without telling her the truth. I had to make things right, no matter what it took.
