Part 26

(A few hours have passed since they have arrived at the hospital. Dom spent some time with his son until he finally fell asleep. After pacing the floor about to burn a hole in it, Dom was finally allowed to see his wife. She's still weak from being without food and water and whatever was in the dart but she was coherent. Dom walks in but hesitates because he's not sure how she will react to seeing him well and alive.)

Dom: Letty!

Letty: (looks at him confused) Am I losing my mind?

Dom: No.

(He watches her as she watches him with an unreadable look in her eyes. When he makes it to her bedside he sits in a chair and takes her hand, but she jerks it back.)

Letty: (shakes her head) No, you're not real. You're not here. I must be hallucinating, because my husband is dead. I identified the body and the cross, no you're not real.

Dom: I planted that body to make it look like I was dead. I wanted to keep you and Bri safe while I got better.

Letty: (a sob escapes) No, you're not real, you're not real.

(Not wanting her to hurt more he gets up and takes her into his arms and holds her as she weakly fights against him.)

Dom: I'm here baby. I'm here and alive.

Letty: I buried my husband.

Dom: I'm standing right here mami.

(The monitor starts to go off because of her blood pressure and he reacts immediately. The nurse comes in but he holds a hand up to stop them. He grabs his wife's face and slowly brushes his lips against hers. It took a moment but he could feel her as she kissed him back. Seeing that he had it under control, the doctor ushered everyone out. Dom deepens the kiss as he feels Letty react to him, as tears slip down their faces. He goes to pull back to catch his breath but she clings to him.)

Letty: (begs) No, don't.

Dom: (place his forehead to hers) We need to calm you down before they put me out of here.

Letty: (sigh) How are you here? I saw your body. I planned your funeral. Where is Little B?

Dom: B is safe asleep I was hurt badly when I washed up and miraculously, B was there too. I had to send him back to you because I knew you would keep him safe. I had to lay low for a while to heal, but I was always coming home.

(He looks at her before looking down at her baby bump. He slowly places his hands on it before he bends down and places a tender kiss there. She could feel his tears on her gown as he caressed the sides of her bump.)

Letty: (rubs his head) It all still feels like a dream. I've pictured this in my dreams so many times but then I would wake up. It hasn't been easy settling into our new normal, and now it's chaos again.

Dom: (looks at her) Maybe, but it's the best kind of chaos.

Letty: (yawns) What happened to Dante?

Dom: He's somewhere he will never get out from.

Letty: So he's still alive?

Dom: I'm not heartless Letty. He will get what's coming to him, he's going to pray for death.

Letty: (tug on his arm) Lay with me. I need to know you're here because I'm having a hard time processing this.

Dom: I'll hold you for the rest of our lives as long as we're together.

(She moves over as best she can with the baby bump and small bed to make room for Dom. Dom kicks off his shoes before he gets on the bed and lies next to Letty wrapping an arm around her middle. She sigh in contentment feeling his body pressed into hers as he holds her for the first time in six months. They continue to talk some more when he feels a thump against his hand as Letty places her hand over his.)

Letty: Someone is awake.

Dom: (smiles proudly) Strong kick.

Letty: She must have heard your voice.

Dom: (looks confused) How, when I wasn't here?

Letty: I would play the voice messages on my phone. I wanted Bug to know who his or her father was.

Dom: (kiss behind her ear) Thank you.

Letty: Mmm, I'm really glad you're here. It's been hard trying to move forward but I had to for them.

Dom: You're an amazing mother Let.

Letty: (tearful smile) Thank you!

Dom: I love you so much!

Letty: I love you too. If I wasn't so tired I would jump your bones, but this is just as good.

Dom: (chuckle) You have no idea.

(It was the next day when both Letty and Little B were fit enough to head home. Dom made sure he had a private jet to take just him and his family back. Tej, Roman, and Ramsey were in the front while Little B was on his game. Letty was in the back resting with Dom waiting on her hand and foot.)

Dom: How are you feeling?

Letty: I'm better, still a little tired though.

Dom: I have someone who wants to say hi.

Letty: (looks confused) It better not be another kid.

Dom: (makes a face) No it's not a kid,

Letty: Ok, who is it?

(At that moment some guy walks in with his head down and then looks up smiling.)

Leon: Hey babygirl.

Letty: (mouth drop) Oh my... Leon.

Leon: Hey Letty girl.

Letty: (tear up) How? Where have you been? The last time I seen you was you back as you let me in Mexico. I should kick you skinny as but I can't at the moment.

Leon: I'm sorry but I knew you were going to be ok. Hell i was losing my mind and I just panicked and ran.

Letty: (smirk) Well you always been a wuss.

(He moves closer to her and pulls her into his arms.)

Leon: It's good to see you Let.

Letty: You too Leon.

Leon: I would love to stay longer but I have to get back to Rome.

Letty: What a big chested bimbo waiting on you?

Leon: No, I have a wife and a son now.

Letty: (smile) Well I'm glad you're out here making it man.

Leon: Congratulations by the way. That's one blessed baby in there.

Letty: Maybe yo and the family can come visit after we get settled.

Leon: Just let me know when.

Letty: Ok cool! Now I'm going to lay down before Dom shit himself.

Dom: Well we have another two hours so you can rest before we get back.

Letty: I think I'll take you up on that. Go spend time with Little B, he has been through worse than I have. I'll see you later Leon.

Leon: See you soon babygirl.

Dom: (kisses her forehead) Get some sleep mama.

Letty: I will now go.

(She squeezed his hand before she closed her eyes to rest before getting back home. Dom goes to join his son who is in a seat with his headphones on. Dom sits for a second before he takes them off him and looks at him.)

Dom: Hey bud.

Little B: Hi papa.

Dom: You want to hang out before we get home to your crazy aunt?

Little B: You want to play Mario Cart?

Dom: Yeah, let's set it up.

(Together they set up the game and soon started playing. Dom would engage in small talk with his son to see how he has been. Tears were shed and happy hugs and smiles were given. By the time they reached home, Little B made sure he had his father in his eyeline.)
