Mi Familia: Ride or Die!

Part 27

(It was close to eight that evening when they made it back to The Canary Islands. Everyone was there waiting for them to get back home after what happened. As soon as they stepped off the plane Mia and Brian were waiting anxiously. Tej, Roman, and Ramsey hugged them before going inside.)

Mia: Where are Letty and Little B?

Roman: They are on the plane.

(He and Brian exchange looks because she doesn't know that Dom is alive. Little B steps off first followed by Letty. Behind her, Dom places a hand on her protectively to help her down the stairs. Just as he steps out and looks out he hears his sister gasp before she screams.)

Mia:(shocked) OH MY GOD! DOM!

(Letty smiles as she sees Mia running towards them. Dom had just stepped down on the ground when his baby sister rushed into his arms.)

Dom: (chuckle) Hey Mia.

Mia: (cries) Oh my god Dom.

Dom: Missed me?

Mia: (lost for words) Your... Wait.... You're dead.

Dom: I'm far from dead sis.

(Before he knows it, Mia balls up her fist and punches him in the gut.)

Mia: What the hell?

Dom: I couldn't risk it, Mia. It was one the hardest things I've had to do in a long time but I don't regret protecting my family.

Mia: Barely, he still came after us.

(Letty walks up as Little B hugs Mia.)

Letty: Hey Chica.

Mia: (grabs to hug her) Are you ok?

Letty: I'm better.

Mia: (eyes Dom) So, how was the flight?

Letty: (rolls her eyes) Mia?

Mia: What? It's been six long months.

Dom: Ok, enough!

Mia: What? I'm just saying.

Letty: You're ridiculous!

(Mia giggles as she watches her family head to the SUV. Once home Little B went to his room to just try and take it all in. Dom helps Letty up to their room and into bed.)

Dom: You need to rest.

Letty: I've been resting Dom. I'm not glass, I won't break.

Dom: I know but please let me do this.

Letty: (arch an eyebrow) What's wrong?

Dom: (sigh) It just feels crazy being back. I mean I'm happy now that I'm here but I guess I'm a little overwhelmed.

Letty: (rubs his arm) I think we all are. I'm so tired of chasing missions. We are just letting our life slip away. We should be here or wherever we end up with our kids, raising them. We shouldn't be looking behind our backs because someone is mad.

Dom: (grabs her hand) I promise no more missions. Now is the time for me to focus on you and the kids. Teach Brian how to drive, and watch you bring our baby into this crazy world.

Letty: It's so crazy.

Dom: And I want to grow old with the love of my life.

Letty: (makes a face) Oh you're talking about me.

Dom: (chuckle) No, I'm talking about this woman I met in Rome. The baddest body and..

(He doesn't finish because a pillow hits him in the face.)

Letty: You must want me to end your life?

Dom: I'm just kidding baby. You know you're the only one for me now, tomorrow, next month until I take my last breath.

Letty: I better be.

(He laughs before he kisses her forehead, and then her lips.)

Dom: Maybe I can make it up to you later.

Letty: Well it has been six.......long.......months.

Dom: (gets up) I'm going to go make sure B is ok and then I'll be back.

Letty: You don't have to rush back Dom.

Dom: Oh I'm rushing back.

Letty: (shakes her head) Just don't forget about Little B. He was there when it all happened and he's been struggling.

Dom: (kiss her nose) I will!

Letty: Talk to him.

(She gets under the cover and turns on the TV as he goes to mingle with everyone. He leaves them to go see what his son is up to. He makes it to his room and opens it, seeing him on his bed.)

Dom: Hey bud.

Little B: (looks up) Hey Dad.

Dom: You getting settled?

Little B: Yeah.

(Dom walks in and sits next to him.)

Dom: What's on your mind?

Little B: You here alive.

Dom: I can see how that can be confusing.

Little B: I kind of had a feeling you weren't gone.

Dom: Yeah?

Little B: You would come to me in my dreams. Mom felt the same way too.

Dom: We do have a strong bond don't we?

Little B: All this will take some time to get used to, but I'm so glad you're home.

Dom: Me too bud, me too.

Little B: Dad?

Dom: Yes son.

Little B: Can we go driving tomorrow?

Dom: (smile) You betcha. Now get some rest because we are going to have a you and me day tomorrow.

Little B: Mom would take me before she started to get tired and big.

Dom: Well she's growing your little brother or sister. So mom is going to be tired a lot but that doesn't mean she doesn't love you any less.

Little B: Can you tell her I'm sorry and that I love her to the moon?

Dom: (give him a look) What you're sorry for?

Little B: I wasn't nice before we were taken.

Dom: What happened?

Little B: I just felt alone and I blamed her.

Dom: Sounds like you need to talk with her. I'm sure she would listen to whatever it is.

Little B: I'm not so sure.

Dom: Is there something I need to know?

Little B: No, it's just been a lot before you came back.

Dom: Ok, but whatever it is, it will work out.

Little B: Ok, goodnight Dad.

Dom: Goodnight bud.

(Dom leans down and kisses his son's forehead before he gets up and closes the door. He makes his way to the living room to spend a few minutes with everyone. By eleven, he made his way back up to his room to find Letty fast asleep with a pillow between her legs. He gets in bed and moves to wrap his arm around her to cradle her baby bump. She moves deeper into him but never wakes as he places a small kiss behind the back of her ear. In five minutes he was fast asleep and it was the best sleep he has had in six months.)
