There once was a cat named Foxheart. He was a senior warrior of ThunderClan. His orange pelt glinted as he walked through the forest, thinking about the recent fighting going on between ThunderClan and RiverClan.
Redstar, the ThunderClan leader, had been trespassing on RiverClan territory and stealing RiverClan prey. Everyone knew it was true, but still the ThunderClan leader denied it. Now RiverClan has border guards hidden in the brush, waiting to catch him. He wondered if he could do anything about it. Probably not. It would all blow over when Redstar got caught.
He didn't want to do anything anyway. He was somewhat a coward, but he didn't let it show. The others thought he was just calm and collected, and he wanted to keep it that way.
Foxheart had wandered all the way to the border. He sat atop the hill overlooking Sunningrocks and the river, enjoying the breeze.
He looked down to the border when he heard rustling. A ThunderClan patrol walked along to renew the scent markers. He recognized Oakfoot, Woodclaw, Pantherpaw, and Brushtail.
On the other side of the border, Foxheart saw eyes shining in the cover of the reeds. The RiverClan guards emerged, their teeth bared. Foxheart was to far away to make out the conversation, but he could tell that the mood had shifted from annoyance to hidden anger and finally to open hostility. He was never one to intervene in border disputes, so he remained hidden in the tall grass on the hill.
Brushtail struck first. His claw raked through the side of one of the older RiverClan warriors, and the metallic scent of blood filled the air. Pantherpaw rushed through the grass back to the camp.
She ran up the hill and headed straight for him. Foxheart tried to hide, but the young apprentice saw his red pelt.
"Go down and help them! I have to go get reinforcements, but you can fight!" she yelled as she rushed on past him.
He didn't fight. he sat atop the hill and watched the fight play out without moving a muscle. By the time the other warriors arrived, the fight was over. And RiverClan won.
None of the cats died, but Brushtail was blinded, and Oakfoot and Woodclaw were most likely crippled for life.
Foxheart's welcome to the camp had not felt very welcoming. Most cats growled when he came close, others acted like he wasn't even there. Hateful eyes seemed to be always lingering on him. One day, Foxheart cracked. He couldn't take it anymore.
"I'm sorry, okay?!? I'm a coward! Stop acting like I'm the one who attacked them!" he screamed.
He stormed out of the camp, and no one saw him again.
...
Hey guys! I always thought that it was weird that people were called "foxhearted" is they were cowards. To me, foxs in the series sounded a lot different from a coward, so I wrote a legend about it. I'm hoping to start more legends in fandoms such as Steven Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teen Titans (The old one!), and another Warriors. I hope you'll read some of my other stories, so bye until then!
