Team Three Star strode into the city of Liyue Harbor, having finished their short journey from the nation of Mondstadt. In heavy contrast to Mondstadt's European, Germanic architecture, Liyue seemed to be a city of the East, looking like something out of pre-industrial China.

"This is so much more familiar..." Wu thought fondly, reminded of his home ever so slightly. "I wonder if I could find a hot bowl of Congee here..." He licked his lips, his tail swaying contentedly.

"If you wanna find the Geo Archon, this is the only chance you'll get all year. Guess it's a good thing Venti brought it up earlier, otherwise we definitely would've missed this year's Rite of Descension." Paimon said, turning to Aether.

"Do you know when it is?" Aether asked.

"Venti only said that it would be soon, but Paimon... knows nothing else, hehe..." Paimon chuckled nervously. "Look, we're already in Liyue, so let's go ask some locals!" Paimon said cheerfully.

"Hold it." Wu said, and they both paused.

"Oh, what is it now?" Paimon said, annoyed.

"We should reexamine and restock our resources. How are we on food? Mora?" Wu asked.

"Uh... We're good on the food front, and I've got around 50,000 mora on me." Aether said.

"And I have around 20,000 from mooching off of-I mean-helping out Bennett..." Wu said. "It's good for now, but we might need to make some equipment upgrades or invest in ourselves some more." Wu said. "You two can ask around about the Rite of Descension, while I earn us some nest egg." Wu said. "Aether, could I get 30 of that 50,000?" He turned to Aether.

"Psh, when did you become the breadwinner? How do we know you're not trying to mug us and run off?" Paimon asked skeptically.

"What do you have in mind, Wu?" Aether asked.

"It's a little money pot scheme my Auntie taught me... I'll set up a table on a busy area, and sit down with a money pot next to me. I'll let people come and challenge me at arm wrestling for the pot, with a hefty buy in to keep growing it!" Wu said.

"...That sounds super illegal." Aether said.

"I'm sure I can outrun whatever law enforcement this place has..." Wu said, placing his hands on his hips.

"It's also super scummy, scamming decent people out of their mora!" Paimon said.

"It's a social contract, like gambling!" Wu said.

"What if someone beats you?" Aether asked.

"Psh, you think some random schmuck is going to beat yours truly?" Wu scoffed.

"...It's not a bad idea, Wu... But I don't wanna earn mora dishonestly... You're welcome to try, but I don't want a part in it..." Aether said, turning away.

...

"Whatever. The mora's all mine, then..." Wu tried to shrug it off, turning and walking off with his hands in his pockets.

Wu couldn't deny that it was scummy, but money was only the second purpose of the scam's function.

"...That sounds super illegal, Auntie Shinko..." A younger, softer Wu muttered, walking side by side with a smoking hot blonde woman in biker getup down a busy street in West City.

"Psh, it's a social contract. The schmucks that play know what they get in on, no strings attatched!" Auntie Shinko chuckled, raising her shades from her eyes. "Besides, we're not after the money..." She said.
