"Elizabeth, April is...April is gone," Idina whispered.
"What?" Elizabeth breathed. "It can't be."
"Elizabeth..."
"But we didn't have our For Good moment. I didn't say goodbye!" Elizabeth murmured.
"You did all you could do..." Idina began.
"No! NOOOOOO!!!" Elizabeth cried. "You can't take her from me!"
"Elizabeth calm down," Kristin commanded.
"DON'T TAKE HER FROM ME!! APRIL! NOOO!!!" Elizabeth yelled.
"Elizabeth, please, April wouldn't want.."
"April wouldn't want! Who are you to tell me what April wouldn't want! Who are you to be there when she dies, but not me. No. I won't accept this. Where is she?" Elizabeth shouted.
"Elizabeth...." Idina started.
"WHERE IS SHE?"
"In her room at the house," Idina whispered.
Elizabeth conjured up a broomstick, and then she was off. Her black cape flooding out behind her.
Elizabeth stepped through the open window and walked over to April's body.
April's hair was completely and hopelessly white. White snowflakes laced April's skin, which was no longer skin. It was pure ice.
"April," She murmured, stroking her frozen face. Literally frozen. "I feel it, Glanda. I feel the love. Please don't leave me. I need you. I need someone to help me control my powers. I need someone to save me from this. I need someone that I love. Please, please don't leave me."
Elizabeth sank to her knees and sobbed next to her best friend.
"Don't leave me," She wailed. "I love you, sweetheart. Please don't leave me."
"I won't," A voice croaked next to her.
Elizabeth's eyes widened, and she refused to look up. She was dreaming. Her brain was playing tricks on her. Yes, that had to be it.
"Elizabeth? You can look up. I'm really hear now," April said through their minds.
Elizabeth let out a few choked sobs and looked up. The tears kept flowing when she saw her Glanda staring back at her, her body no longer frozen and her hair back to its beautiful strawberry blonde.
Elizabeth jumped up from where she was and hugged April tightly, still crying.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm fine. You saved me," April laughed. April lifted up Elizabeth's head and dried her friend's tears.
"Are you sure you won't leave me again?" Elizabeth asked softly, staring into April's eyes with a hopeful expression.
"I promise," April answered.
Elizabeth leapt over and hugged April as tightly as she could.
"I love you," She muttered.
"I love you, too. Like a best friend, of course," April giggled.
"Of course," Elizabeth said, but it was barely audible over the sound of her happy crying.

There is one chapter (the epilogue) after this.
