Author's pov:
The room was quiet, bathed in the faint silver glow of moonlight filtering through sheer curtains. The clock on the wall ticked softly, marking the passing of time.
Yn woke abruptly, her chest rising with a sharp inhale as if startled from a dream she couldn't remember.
She looked her side where, jungkook sleeping peacefully, Without a sound, she slipped out of bed, her bare feet brushing against the cool floor.
Drawn by an unseen force, she walked to the balcony door, her movements slow and deliberate.
The handle turned under her hand, and the night greeted her-cool, crisp, and filled with the distant hum of a sleeping world.
A soft breeze stirred her hair, carrying with it the faint scent of rain, though the skies were clear.
She wrapped her arms around herself, not for warmth, but as if to anchor herself to the moment. Whatever had woken her, it lingered-a whisper at the edges of her mind, unspoken but undeniable.
Behind her, the bed creaked softly. She didn't turn, but she heard the familiar sound of his footsteps crossing the floor.
"What's wrong, baby ?" jungkook' s voice was low, rough from sleep, but gentle. Jungkook stepped onto the balcony, his warmth brushing against her back as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Nothing," she said quietly, though the weight in her voice told a different story.
He didn't press her. Instead, he slid his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. Together, they stood in silence, watching the stillness of the world. Whatever had woken her, she didn't feel so alone now.
The silence stretched between them, not heavy but comforting, like a warm blanket on a cold night. She leaned into him slightly, letting his presence ground her.
"You don't have to tell me," he murmured, his lips brushing softly against her temple. "But I'm here if you need to."
Her lips curved into a faint smile. "I know," she whispered.
The night breeze swirled around them, cool against their skin, but his arm around her felt like a shield against the chill. Jungkook turned Yn gently to face him, his hand finding its way to her cheek.
His thumb traced a soft line along her skin, his eyes searching hers with quiet concern.
"You've been restless lately," jungkook said, his voice tender but edged with worry. "Talk to me."
Yn hesitated, the words caught somewhere between her heart and her lips. "I don't know," she admitted finally. "It's just... something about tonight. Like I'm waiting for something, but I don't know what."
He tilted his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "Maybe you're just waiting for me to do this."
Before she could respond, he leaned in, his lips capturing hers in a kiss that was soft but unrelenting, as if trying to chase away whatever haunted her.
She melted into him, her hands sliding up to rest against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath her fingertips.
When they broke apart, his forehead rested lightly against hers, their breaths mingling in the cool night air. "Whatever it is," he said, his voice a gentle promise, "we'll face it together. Always."
