Lily's POV:
I woke up in...a cabin? I looked around at the wooden walls, the wooden floor, and I felt a warm blanket on top of me. I looked down and stared in wonder. It was exactly like my blanket at home.
"Oh good, you're awake. I didn't think you'd black out, you must not be fully recovered." Ash said from somewhere in the room. I followed the voice and he was leaning against the doorway.
"Where am I?" I asked. He smiled, showing white teeth.
"Neverland. Did you completely forget what happened last night?" He asked. I suddenly remembered. My heart stopped.
"Oh God, my family, my friends....what have I done?" I asked, mortified. I held my head in my hands, feeling hot tears come to my eyes.
Ash didn't say anything, he just stood in the doorway. I tried not to break down completely in front of him.
I took a few deep breaths, trying to think this thing over.
"If it helps any... technically you're still in the hospital bed, in a coma. They don't know you're gone." He said. I shook my head.
"But they know what happened. Trace found me.... I must've terrorized them. Why did I do it? I miss my family, I miss Lydia and Patrick." I said, rubbing my arms, feeling the cabin get suddenly colder. He didn't say anything and I looked up at him.
"Hello, seriously sad teenage girl here." I said. He laughed, coming over to sit next to me.
"Sorry. You'll get used to it here. Trust me." he said. I looked over at him.
"Can't I go back? Like, just click my heels three times and repeat the mantra there's no place like home?" I asked. He chuckled.
"Sorry Dorothy, it's a bit more complicated than that. You gotta give yourself time to heal. Plus, isn't this the place you've always dreamed of? Dontcha wanna check it out?" he asked. He looked pretty cute in the light of the cabin and I blushed, feeling my self give in.
"Okay...but do I have to stay in this dress? I'm freezing." I said, shivering.
He laughed.
"No. You can change into normal clothes anytime. Closet's over there." He said. I nodded, walking over to the closet. I opened it and my jaw dropped. My preferred style was in the closet.
"How?" I asked.
"It's supposed to be a happy place for teenagers right?" He asked, with a smile, walking out.
After he left I took a shower, feeling uncomfortable. I knew I needed to go home, and fast. But he had a point. I've always wanted to escape the pressures of a normal life and just be a normal 16 year old. Even act less than my age. I looked down at my tattoo, smiling. Maybe I was destined to be here, to let loose and relax. But was coming close to dying really worth the risk? I stared at the scars on my arms.
Frowning, I turned off the water and put a robe over myself, brushing my hair and looking through my closet.
I picked out this: ak1.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/cid/66393635/id/n_lLfBShStqe... including the two bracelets. I frowned and looked through the choice of clothes more closely. They all showed off my tattoo and arms.
I opened the door and looked around for Ash. I stopped to enjoy in the pretty scenery. It was like, a paradise island. Kids my age were all around, talking, acting like five year olds, haning out, just having a good time. I remembered that he said some of them were dead, and I shivered, moving on.
I found Ash hanging out by a smoothie stand. He smiled and handed me a drink.
"Hey, you like the clothes?" He asked.
"They don't cover enough." I said, crossing my arms tentatively. He smiled, rubbing his hands on them.
"Hey, they're normal here. No one's gonna judge you." He said. I looked around and noticed people weren't staring, they weren't pointing or laughing.
A girl noticed me and waved, smiling. I waved and tentatively smiled back.
I was accepted here?
I could get used to this.
