The morning sunlight streamed through the sheer curtains, painting the room with a golden hue. But the view in front of me was far more serene than any morning I’d ever experienced.

There he was, lying peacefully on the bed, his face devoid of the usual mischief and care of the world. His mouth was slightly parted, and his messy hair fell over his forehead, giving him the most handsome yet adorable look I’d ever seen.

Ever since I woke up, my eyes had been glued to his face. I couldn’t bring myself to look away, and for a fleeting moment, I wondered if I was being a creep. But I quickly shrugged off the thought—he’s my boyfriend, all mine. That gives me every right to admire him for as long as I want, right?

Unfortunately, the ticking of the clock reminded me that time wasn’t on our side. I had to get him back to his house before anyone noticed his presence here. With a sigh, I gently brushed the hair away from his forehead.

"Dev! Dev, get up. It’s morning now," I whispered softly, hoping to wake him without startling him. But all he did was let out a content hum and snuggle deeper into the pillow.

I leaned closer, shaking him gently. "Dev, get up na, please."

This time, his eyes fluttered open. His half-asleep gaze met mine, and I was greeted by his sleepy blue eyes, the kind of blue that reminded me of the calm ocean just before dusk. Soft, warm, and utterly mesmerizing. They still carried the remnants of sleep, and I had to resist the overwhelming urge to kiss his eyelids.

"You have to get back home," I reminded him,"Did you forget?"

He let out a lazy sigh, his lips curving into a small, cheeky smile. "My home is where you are, love."

I rolled my eyes, unable to hide the grin tugging at my lips. "Not the right time to throw cheesy lines, Dev."

He chuckled quietly and finally dragged himself out of bed. While he freshened up, I checked the surroundings to make sure everything was secure. When he returned, he leaned down and kissed my forehead.

"Okay, see you in a few hours," he said.

I smiled back but shook my head. "Sorry, yaar, but I can’t come to attend my classes today as I have to go."

His brows furrowed in confusion, and he immediately asked, "Where? And why didn’t you tell me earlier?"

I narrowed my eyes at his tone. "How could I? I thought I’d tell you after watching the movie yesterday, but you were already asleep."

His lips pressed into a thin line, and he scratched the back of his neck. I continued, "Anyway, yesterday dad called to tell me about my cousin’s wedding being fixed. The pre-wedding rituals are starting soon, and they’ve already booked my tickets for today."

His eyes widened in disbelief. "What? You’re leaving today? And I don’t even have the proper time to bid you goodbye?"

I chuckled at his tone and lightly slapped his arm. "Oh, god, don’t be so dramatic. It’s not like I’m going away forever! I’ll be back in a few days as I’ll just need to take a longer leave during the actual wedding."
