Tyler pulled his hood over his head and put his head on his desk. He didn't want the new boy to sit next to him. He knew the seat next to him was the only one left in the room, because no one wanted to sit with the freak, but still, he hoped the boy wouldn't sit there.

He had introduced himself as Josh, when the teacher forced him to, and was told to take a seat. Tyler heard the footsteps coming towards him. He smashed his eyes closed.

He felt the chair next to him move, and he suddenly hates the way the room was set up, with 2- person tables so that when there was a science project, your partner was next to you.

Tyler felt the boy looking at him. He hoped the boy wouldn't talk to him. He knew that the moment Josh figured out he didn't talk, he would hate him, just like everyone else.

"Mr. Joseph, please pay attention."

Tyler sat up at the teacher's command, and caught Josh's eye on the way. He looked away though, not wanting to start a conversation. He stared straight ahead, still hoping Josh wouldn't speak to him. Somehow, having the boy not knowing him felt better than having him hate him.

"Dude... are you okay?"

Tyler's heart flopped in his chest and he looked nervously at Josh before looking straight ahead again.

"It's fine, you don't have to talk to me. Just nod. Are you okay?"

Tyler nodded hesitantly.

"Are you sure?"

He nodded.

"Do you talk to anyone? Ever?"

Tyler shook his head, catching Josh's eye before looking down at the desk.

"That's fine. That's okay. Can you help me find my next class?"

Tyler nodded slowly.

Josh smiled. "Cool. Thanks, dude."

Tyler nodded again and twisted his fingers around eachother. He wondered why Josh didn't act like he thought Tyler was weird because he didn't talk.

He probably does. He probably just needs someone to show him around so he doesn't look dumb. That's all. He thinks you're stupid, just like everyone else.

The bell rang, and Josh pulled out his schedule and handed it to Tyler. "Do we have any classes together?" He asked. Tyler read over the list and nodded, then pointed to all of the classes before lunch and two after.

Josh smiled. "Cool." He said. Tyler walked past him, and Josh followed. They walked down the hall to their next class, and Josh followed him inside. "Can I sit with you? I don't really have any friends besides you."

Tyler wondered why Josh had addressed him as a "Friend". He shrugged and nodded at Josh, sitting in his usual seat and pointing to the one beside it. Josh sat.

Well, here we go. I got this idea while riding a horse in the mountains. I don't know. XD

Hoped you like it. I'll update asap.
