Song of the chapter: Don't be so hard on yourself by Jess Glynne.Chapter 2: Popular
At around eleven at night, just as I was about to go to sleep, I received a call from Christopher. I immediately answered.I needed to get that feeling out of my system.
"Hey, princess! How ar-"
"She has lost her freaking mind, Christ! I am telling you, she is nuts!," I cut him off.
"Calm down and stop shouting. I can hear you perfectly well," he chuckled.
"Sorry, but I can't. I am slowly going insane. She and the douchebag came home today and announced that they are freaking engaged. Can you believe that? Engaged. Ok, I get that they dated since high school but still. She just got out of college and her mind is already in marriage."
"Calm do-"
"I'm not finish. Mom at first was against it -I just know it- but dad only thought about the incoming money he will make with the alliance of both families to care about Cassie. And you know mom, she goes with everything he says. I can't even imagine what Cassie like in him, that judgemental pig. I bet it was the ring. That or he brainwashed her. I'm sure now. He is rich. He could have brainwashed her or something," I rambled.
"You finished?", he asked amused.
He didn't have the right to be. It was no laughing matter. This was about Cassie, our beloved sister.
I grunted and let out a small yes.
"I already know. She visited me the other week and told me. And really, sis, brainwash? Are you serious?",he said.
"Ok, let's forget about my brainwash theory for now and focus on the problem. What did you do when she told you?," I asked.
"To be honest? At first I was mad. My baby sister marrying an prick? Hell no. But you know,if you look closely you can tell that she loves him a lot. He makes her happy. And as long as he doesn't hurt her, I won't kick his sorry ass," he said.
Wrong answer.
"So basically you didn't do anything. How could you? You are his twin brother. She would have surely listen to you. You should have done something!,"I yelled, running a hand in through hair.
I heard him sigh- a sign that he was irritated by this conversation.
"It's her life. She can do whatever she wants. Just give it a chance,"he said.
Easy to say for him. He was on talking terms with Thomas, while I was on arguing terms. He had a say in at least some things, while I didn't. Plus, he was in college. He was not obliged to live with them till the wedding ended- which was in approximately eight months.
But I sucked it up and nodded even though he couldn't see me.
"The worst part was that Thomas made obnoxious comments here and there, and nobody dared to say a word. I had to excused myself from dinner or else my future brother-in-law would have found himself in a hospital. I was on my own there. Urg, I miss you so much!," I whined.
"I know but, hey, at least you have Leo, right?," he asked, trying to lighten my mood.
"Yeah, at least I have him," I said with a smile.
