It's a funny thing how fate can bring two people together, especially when you're standing on the edge of a bridge.
A Scott Arceneaux Jr-$crim love story not for the faint of heart.
As night fell Scott and I gradually left the room to hangout downstairs, watching some shitty movie with Seth Rogen I paid absolutely no attention to, seeing as my mind was stuck on the fact that Ari hadn't let his room at all since I'd 'broken up' with him earlier that morning.
Scott obviously knew that something was up as he'd let out an annoyed huff or a grunt every so often, showing he was clearly irritated.
Thankfully before either of us could say a word that could possibly make things worse, his phone sounded off, signaling he had a text.
"We goin out." He stated simply, his eyes still fixed on his phone screen. "It's Josh's birthday- we goin to a club."
I pretended not to hear him, keeping my eyes focused on the screen ahead of us.
"Hey." He nudged me in the arm with his elbow. "You hear me? We goin somewhere."
I turned slowly, furrowing my brows. "Where?"
He in turn put his phone directly in my face, allowing me to read the message from Josh myself.
Celebrating my bday, come thru, bring ur girl nd Oddy, we hittin up the Dungeon.
I squinted as I pulled back, pressing my lips together. "You know I'm not really feeling too good, Scott. Maybe I'll just stay here and you and Ari can go."
He scoffed, rolling his eyes as he shoved his phone back into his pocket. "Nah nah, no way. You ain't staying, you're coming. Besides, not like you're gonna run off me again, are you?" He chuckled lowly, his eyes narrowing as he gripped onto my knee.
I swallowed down the lump in my throat, shaking my head. "No, of course not."
His face lit up, a devilish smirk playing on his lips. "Good, then we ain't got nothing to worry about. Go upstairs and get changed, I'll tell Ruby."
Doing as he said I trudged myself slowly up the stairs back into our room, but spared a passing glance at Ari's door. It was quiet, no noise whatsoever from inside, which almost made me think maybe he'd actually been gone this whole time.
I raced into the room the second I heard Scott's footsteps heading up, closing the door softly over before going over towards my bags to dig out an outfit appropriate for the night.
I listened in carefully to see if I could make out what Scott was saying to Ari, but most of it was muffled except for the obnoxious "Quit crying, you'll find another bitch to fuck tonight!" that loudly spewed out of Scott's mouth as he came down the hallway.
My heart sank as I cringed at his words, but continued rummaging through the mess of clothes until a good size pile had added up, finally finding the perfect fit.
I didn't say a word to Scott as he walked inside, gathering up my necessities in hand before storming into the bathroom and slamming it shut.
"You're no fun." He pouted with a groan from outside of the door as he realized I had locked it once he had jiggled the handle.
I smirked to myself, rolling my eyes even though he couldn't see. "Sorry babe, you'll have to wait until later."
A good forty five minutes later I had reappeared, my outfit perfect, my make up on point and my hair even better.
