Aubrey - December 13th

"You have to look smoking hot around Joe," Alyssa told me with a smirk as she threw clothes at me. I rolled my eyes at her and placed the clothes in my suitcase. "Oh, come on, A, I'm not stupid. I know you totally have a crush on him!"

I stared at her in shock. "Do not," I responded as my cheeks began turning red.

"Hey, I wouldn't blame you. He's a total hottie, you know."

"You're making it sound like you want him."

"Nah, he's yours," she winked at me with a small smirk. I rolled my eyes again as she laughed and tossed more clothes at me. Her contagious laugh caused me to join in as I folded my clothes and placed them neatly in the suitcase. "Seriously though, I'm glad you're taking this vacation. You really do deserve it."

-----

Joe

"And what exactly would you say?" My annoying little brother, Nick, asked me.

"Gee, I don't know. Maybe I'll just ask her if she's excited?"

"Joe, you can't just call Aubrey and ask her if she's excited. Of course she's excited, dude," Kevin said to me.

"I just miss talking to her, okay?"

"You talked to her, what, two days ago? Joe you went two years without Aubrey, you can go one more day," Nick responded to me. I sighed. I knew he was right. "Now, if you're ready, we have our last show of 2009 to perform." I nodded and we went out on stage.

"Hello, Puerto Rico! Are you ready to party?"

-----

"You know, I can totally do it."

I laugh at her confidence. "Then do it, Aub."

"This stem is too short, Joe."

"Here, let me try."

"Not fair!"

"You know," I smirk at her. "This just means I'm a better kisser than you."

I barely slept on the plane ride to LA. I wish I could blame my nerves, but, honestly, I was just so excited to see her again. As we waited for our luggage at LAX, I turned my phone on to one new text message.

Aubrey.

"Hey, I know you're leaving tonight, so I hope you and Nick have a safe flight. It's gonna be a lot of fun."

I smiled and began typing.

"Just landed. See you two ladies soon."

Send.

I locked my phone and placed it in my back pocket as Nick rolled my bag over and handed it to me.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Ready," I said as we walked outside the doors of LAX to the never-ending cameras and paparazzi and headed straight towards our car.

-----

"Adam!" The barista at Starbucks called. I grabbed my coffee and thanked the lady behind the counter. I went to the station and began putting some sugar into my coffee when he came.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Travis asked as I turned around to face him.

"I'm getting coffee. Is that not allowed?" I responded with a raised eyebrow.

"You sure you're not just stalking Aubrey again?"

"Excuse me?" I asked with a laugh. "Does it even look like she's here?"

"You know, I hadn't ever seen you around before, up until Aubrey first introduced us, and now, you seem to be here pretty often." As he said this to me, I could tell he was beginning to get angry, but I honestly didn't care.

"I'm actually on my way to pick up Aubrey. Now, if you'll excuse me," I said as I tried to shuffle past him.

He grabbed my arm and turned me to face him. "You better watch yourself, kid. You took her from me and I haven't forgotten that," he said to me, only inches away from my face.

"Is there a problem here?" Nick asked as he grabbed my arm from Travis' grip.

"Yeah, tell this fag to stay away from my girl," Travis had the nerve to say to my younger brother.

I only smirked. "You know, it's not very nice to call people names. Oh, and by the way, she was my girl way before she even knew you existed, bud," I quickly responded.

It was a good feeling to feel superior to Travis, up until he punched me in the jaw.

-----

"Joe? What the hell?" Aubrey asked as she opened the door and ran to the kitchen.

"Nick? What happened to Joe?" Ronnie said as she descended the stairs.

"You should see the other guy," I said with a smirk as Aubrey brought me a bag of frozen peas.Aubrey and Ronnie exchanged looks and I sighed. "I might have run into your ex-"

"Travis did this?" Aubrey gasped at me. "Wha-Why? What? I'm so confused. Joe?"

"You might have been right about Travis being the jealous kind considering he punched me first."

"You sassed him," Nick said under his breath and I glared at him.

"Nick, come. Why don't you help me lower my and Aubrey's suitcases?" Ronnie asked as she led Nick upstairs, leaving me and Aubrey alone.

Aubrey sighed as she looked at my face and began pacing. "I just don't understand. How did this even start? Tell me everything, please." She looked at me with concern in her eyes and I sighed.

"He approached me, okay? He came up to me and started telling me to stay away, but I told him I was on my way to come pick you up, and he, you know, got a little mad," I shrugged at her and I could see the sympathy in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Joe. I never would have tho-"

"Don't worry about it, okay? Not until Kevin sees me, at least," I responded to her with a toothy grin as she began to chuckle.

"Jeez, ladies. Could you have packed anymore?" Nick asked as he struggled to descend the stairs with one of the suitcases.

I began to laugh. "Let me help you, bro," I responded as I ascended the stairs and grabbed the other suitcase.

"What do you expect? We're gonna be gone until the new year," Ronnie said as she descended the stairs behind me.

I looked over at Aubrey and she was giggling.

I couldn't help but smile.
