After that whole episode, Connor scooped me up in his arms and took me to his room. I was so tired. I was completely drained and freaked out. I had no clue how any of that happened. I was so scared and I didn't want to leave Connor's side. What was that body doing there? How did I get there? Nothing makes sense to me. It was like I was compelled to go there. Some force drew me there. But why is the question. That's never happened to me before. The fact that the body was in Connor's back yard does ring some bells but I know he couldn't have done that. The wounds looked fresh and he was with me all morning.
I'm currently laying with my head on Connor's chest trying to calm myself down and it's working quite well being in his arms but I'm still a little on edge.
I need to clear my mind. I start to relax more once I close my eyes and allow my self to loosen up. I snuggle closer to Connor and my breathing evens out. The last thing I remember before I drift off is Connors soothing touch rubbing my back.
Connor's POV
After the whole ordeal I finally realize that this is real. I have never seen someone like her do that before. I can tell she hand no control of her body or at least didn't know what she was doing. It was like she was being drawn to the back yard. To the body.
The body belonged to one of my pack warriors. How he ended up in my back yard, I don't know. I mind linked my beta not shortly after I took Indigo up stairs and he said there was a group of rouges that were close to the border line. That doesn't make sense if the warrior's body was by my house. What ever killed him could have harmed my mate and I. I'm infuriated at the thought. Who is trying to get to me and my mate?!
I'll have to die before anyone gets to my Indigo. I can't believe this mess. I'm not leaving Indigo until I get answers on what exactly happened to her.
I've decided to cancel pack dinner and tell everyone to stay home today I don't want anyone to be getting hurt on the way here by the rouges. I don't want to risk it. Even though I know they can handle it. I just don't want things to get messy and with Indigo here I don't want her to feel overwhelmed by all the people especially after what just happened.
I mind linked my pack doctor to come and look at Indigo to make sure she's alright. She should be almost here.
I hear her car pull up and her door close. She then knocks on the door. I mind link her. Come in, the door's unlocked.
She walks in and comes up the stairs to my room. We exchange greetings and I lay indigo down on her back so it's easier for Doctor Adams to check her.
"What exactly happened?" Adams asks.
"Well we were in Audrey's room & she said she could hear my phone but it was down stairs in the kitchen and not even ringing. I just thought she was playing around or needed some rest. Then she starts looking for it because she's insisting that it's close by. Next thing I know she's sprinting down the stairs and she ends up in the back yard in pain. It was like she was in a daze and being drawn to the area. Then we both look over and see a dead body of one of our warriors. She screams extremely loud and I try to get her to calm down then she finally snaps out of it. Do you know what's wrong with her?"
Doctor Adams looks deep in thought then her expression suddenly changes and it seems like she's hit the jackpot.
"What is it?" I say urgently.
"Alpha. She's not just any human. She's a Banshee. The Wailing Woman. I know that they are rare. But I think that you're mated to one. All the signs are there."
A Banshee? I am oddly fascinated at the thought. But also shocked. I don't know much about Banshees but I know they scream. I'm quite worried. I don't want Indigo to get hurt or scared by any of this.
"What exactly is a Banshee?"
"A Banshee is a woman who uses her scream/wail to signal when a violent death is about to occur. Banshees are not believed to cause death, just warn of it."
"So she's psychic in a sense"
"You could say so, that's how she knew where the body was going to be. Other Banshees can predict the deaths of people as well or certain information, usually with other Banshees help."
I ponder on the thought, Indigo is not fully human. Her scent is of one but she has to be mixed to be mixed some where down the line. One of her parents maybe.
"Banshees are commonly know to be products of a werewolf/human couple. Or they have Banshees in the family and the gene is passed down." Doctor Adam mentions informing me more on the topic at hand.
"I see. Thank you doctor. Your dismissed." I see her out and make my way back to my mate.
On my way there I grab my phone calling my mom. I know she'll want me to explain what exactly happened that I canceled dinner.
"Hello mo-" I didn't get to finished because I was bum rushed with questions.
"How is she? It's your mate isn't it? Did the rouges get to your house? Are y'all okay? Have you ma-"
"MOM" I whisper yell as I try to get her attention. I don't want to wake Indigo up.
"Indigo is fine now. But I have just discovered she's not as human as I thought she was. She's a Banshee." I explain.
I hear her gasp.
"Mom, I don't know how to ease this on her. She doesn't know what I am and once she wakes up she's going to want to know some answers. She saw a dead body and I don't know how she's going to react."
"Oh honey. Bring her over I have an idea. "
"Mom I do-"
"Just trust me boy" I can hear the mother stare in her voice.
"Alright. I will have to wait for her to wake up. We'll be there as soon as possible." I sigh and hang up the phone.
Alpha. My Beta mind linked me.
Yes.
We've captured one of the rouges.
Hold it in a cell over night. Tomorrow we will get answers.
Yes, Sir.
What are the where abouts on the others?
They are on the north side. Our warriors have it under control. We've almost cornered them.
Lock them up as well. I will take care of them in the morning.
Yes sir.
I walked up the stairs and sat on the bed next to my mate. I never would have thought that this is how I would meet my mate. She has blown my mind already.
I lay down fully on my back by her legs. I grab her calf. It's so little I can rap my whole hand around it. She unconsciously runs her knee across my face. I smile at her sleeping form.
After laying down about twenty more minutes I decide to wake her. It takes three shakes of her shoulders and she jolts awake almost instantly, looking at me scared with wide eyes.
I pull her in for a hug and she sighs into my arms.
"I know your a bit over whelmed at what happened but I think I know what happened. I know you need answers and I have them. I need to take you somewhere first. Okay?"
I pull back and she her face is neutral and she nods her head.
I leave her in my bed for a minute while I grab clothes for her.
