Aubrey
"Be careful, Aub. You don't want to get lost," Joe murmured into my ear as he slid his hand across my back.
My entire body chilled under his touch. And I was wearing about 3 different layers.
My heart began pounding until we caught up to Nick and Ronnie and Joe removed his arm from my back. As soon as he was no longer touching me, my body craved his touch once again.
What is happening to me?
"Come over here, look," Nick said as he led us to an empty spot at one of the windows. Ronnie and I were mesmerized at the beauty - you really could see 5 different states from that one spot. "We'd take you guys upstairs so you could see it without all the dirty mirrors, but it's way too fucking cold up there." Ronnie and I began to laugh as we nodded in agreement.
"Would you ladies like a picture?" Joe asked me and Ronnie. We both exchanged a shrug and a nod as I handed Joe my phone.
"Smile," Joe said.
Click.
-----
"Are you guys hungry?" Nick asked as we stood shivering staring out at the Statue of Liberty. I turned to face the boys.
"I'm more cold than hungry," I responded and Joe and Nick began to laugh.
"Come on, we know a great pizza place in Times Square," Joe said as Ronnie and I put our arms around each other in an attempt to keep warm.
Joe and Nick laughed at our sad attempt to keep warm as they led us through the many crowds towards the Subway.
"Wanna know the perk about so many people being here?" Nick asked me and Ronnie as we descended the subway stairs.
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
"We blend in with everyone else," Joe softly said, grin on his face as we passed the barriers to the train.
-----
"You guys weren't kidding. This is the best pizza I've ever tasted," I told Nick and Joe as I took another bite of my New York styled pizza, Ronnie nodding in agreement.
"I love this place. It's a great place to come after watching a Broadway show, considering it's right there," Nick responded to me.
"I'm stuffed," Ronnie said as she put down the crust of her third pizza and patted her stomach. "I think I'm gonna have a food baby."
Joe began to laugh. "Good. We can walk it off now," he said as he called the waiter over to the table and I reached for my wallet in my purse. "What are you doing?" He whispered into my ear.
"Stop, no, I'm paying for something, okay?" I said, seriously, looking at him.
"Expense-free, remember?" Nick said from across the table, eyebrow raised.
I sighed. "You guys are the worst," I mumbled under my breath and Joe smirked.
"Yes, that's why you're here. With us," he said as he finished off his, fifth?, pizza and handed the waiter his credit card.
"He has a point, you know. You only have yourself to blame," Nick joined in, copying his brother's smirk as he wiped the grease off of his fingers with his napkin.
"Well, faults aside," Ronnie said eyeing me, "Where to next?"
"Rockefeller Center," Joe said with a grin.
-----
"I want to go ice skating!" Ronnie exclaimed at us when we got to the center.
"Hell no. Not today," Nick told her. "We have to come in the morning when we come back. We'll go though, we promise." Joe nodded in agreement and I chuckled at my sister's attempt at puppy dog eyes with Nick and Joe.
"We're not your sister; puppy dog eyes don't work on us," Joe said to Ronnie, making sure to wink at me after. I rolled my eyes.
"So we're supposed to ice skate in this freezing temperature?" I asked as I tried to warm myself up by rubbing my arms. Joe, of course, rolled his eyes.
"Stop being a baby," he said as he began taking off his coat and handed it to me. He unzipped the leather jacket he'd been wearing all day and traded it for his coat. "Wear that and suck up the cold," he said with a smirk on his face. I stared at him with my mouth wide open and Ronnie was chuckling right behind me. I, still in shock, unbuttoned my coat, took it off, and put on his jacket under my coat. "Better?" He asked with a smirk.
"Aub, don't be ridiculous. Take my jacket. I'm not even cold."
