You feel your eyelids getting heavier and heavier. You haven't slept well in days. One or two hours was never enough.

You finally give in and go to sleep.

The next morning you awake to your puppy Maya scratching on your door. You throw the covers off of your lower body and open the door. Maya sprints in as soon as you open the door, and she jumps on your bed. You walk over, pick her up, and go out into the living room. You notice that you have nothing to do today, so you decide at about noon you're gonna head to the beach.

You start packing, you put sunscreen, towels, a shirt and some shorts in a bag. Then you grab Mountain Dews, Pepsis, Arnold Palmer Iced Teas, Sparkling Ices, and bottles of water in a cooler filled with ice.

Then you throw everything, including a red and white umbrella in the back of your trailblazer, and walk back into the house. You fill up Maya's dishes with water and food, and then you put her in her cage with her water and food.
"Sorry Maya, you're gonna have to stay here while I'm gone."
She whimpers and gives you her puppy eyes.

I threw on my bikini and jumped in my car. I drove to the beach. I lived in L.A., so I didn't have to drive very far.

I found a parking spot and got out of my car. I opened the back of my car and grabbed my bag. I reached in for the umbrella and got it. I closed the back, and I failed to realize that there was a puddle behind me. I stepped back and fell. Everything in my bag fell out. Just then, I saw a man coming to help me.
