"I can't believe we are actually doing this." I whispered excitedly to Tessa as we approached the check in counter.
"We don't even look like adults." Tessa whispered back nervously.
"Hello, are you two lost?" The check in agent asked.
I looked at Tessa and she looked even more nervous.
"Excuse me, how rude! I'm twenty one and she's eighteen." I shouted as I pulled out our fake ID from my purse.
"Why does she seem so nervous?" The lady questioned, not convinced as she grabbed the ID out of my hand.
"It's her first time flying and I booked this flight so she can get over her fear of flying!" I yelled.
That did make sense right? I thought to myself.
Another lady came along in a high authority looking blue outfit.
"What's the matter?" She asked the check in agent.
"Those that little girl is acting suspicious." She answered pointing at Tessa.
The lady in the blue outfit glared at Tessa.
Tessa took her hand out of her pocket and held my hand. I felt like taking her hand and slapping it across her face.
Is holding hands supposed to make us look older? I felt like screaming to her, but I knew I shouldn't because it wouldn't look mature and Tessa's hand was shaking, so she was in a vulnerable state.
"It's her first time flying and she has a fear of flying." I repeated.
"Well the IDs look real, are you two sisters?" The lady asked.
"Yup." I answered confidently.
Tessa nodded her head.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, would you like to upgrade to first class." The lady in the blue asked.
"Yes, please." I responded sweetly.
"Sorry, Daisy and Tulip." The check in apologized and handed back our passports. It took me a second to remember that we changed our names.
We headed into the plane following the lady in the blue.
"Okay Tulip you can have the window seat and Daisy you can sit on the seat across her." The lady in the blue outfit left the plane.
"We are so D.T." I said.
"Yes we are Dako, isy." Tessa said with her voice still shaking.
"Nice save." I giggled.
We put our luggage in the carrier above Tessa's seat and we both sat down in our seats.
"Can you come here for a second?" Tessa asked.
"Sure." I rolled my eyes and I made sure she saw it.
I walked over to her seat.
"Stop worrying everything will be okay." I said before she spoke.
"Are we going to get away with this?" She countered.
"Yes, now sit in your seat and shut up." I said smiling, so she knew I wasn't mad at her even though I was and went back to my seat.
I gazed around and everyone was in fancy suits and dresses.
Wow, I wonder how it feels for Tessa being the only poor person on this flight. I looked at Tessa and she didn't seem to notice.
A flight attendant walked across the aisle closing the overhead carriers and telling people to turn off there electronics and buckle their seat-belts. When she finished she grabbed the megaphone and started with the safety speech. All I heard was blah, blah, blah, then "I hope you have a safe trip."
I looked to Tessa and she looked like she was going to throw up.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
She hesitated then nodded her head.
"Good. Now go do something."
She pulled out the TV and put on headphones.
I put on my headphones and got a pocket sized book out of my purse. As my finger touched the corner of my book the plane started moving.
I hope this works out well.
