When I found out that I was pregnant, I was in quandary. Since childhood, I have wanted to be a mother, but given my circumstances, I was dreading to become a mother. But thankfully — or not — everything came to an end when I found out that it was a false alarm.
I say 'not' because I didn't know what should be the right emotion to feel at that time. However, when I heard the news in hospital, I knew that there was a void inside me — and there's still that void inside me. I never understood what caused it, but everything is so clear to me now. I'm connected to my child, but she's not inside me like she should.
Mr. Kim has put me in a difficult situation: if it's about to save Mr. Kim, then we must do it right now, but this way, we'll lose the baby. On the other hand, it's not impossible to save the baby, just a bit risky.
I understand Mr. Kim's mother plea, but I also feel that I'm given a chance to fill the void, and I don't desire to miss this opportunity.
"I want to save my baby."
My voice doesn't tremble as I announce my desperation. My words seem heavy in the quiet room.
"H-how could you say it?" Mrs. Kim asks, shocked. I don't think I said something wrong. "You know how dangerous it is!"
"But my child—"
"And what about my child?" She raises her broken voice. "My Taehyung is important to me."
"I understand you but—"
"But what?" She bellows. "You don't understand a thing. You don't understand how does a mother feels when the child is on the brink of death."
"I think Jungkook understands it very well," Jimin hyung defends me. "He's in a similar situation."
"Yeah, you have every right to be concerned about your child just as much Jungkook has," Chaeyoung adds.
"It's not the same!" She defends her view. "I bore my child. He probably didn't even want a child. It shouldn't matter to him."
This stings in my gut. My sadness turns into anger.
"My child matters to me," I emphasize every word.
"Of course, you'd just say it. You just want to see my son dead since you don't love him," she utters through her gritted teeth.
"It's not true—"
"Certainly it is! You're —"
"Mom, please," Mr. Kim interrupts, standing before me, facing his mother. "Don't speak any further, I request."
"Taehyung," his father finally talks. "You don't understand the gravity of this situation."
"I'm very well aware of the situation now. I hope you had told me this sooner, so I could've avoided this situation." He speaks, calm and collected though I don't know how he is feeling inside because of my decision.
"We never thought it would come back yo haunt us. We tried—"
"—to turn me into a jerk who would see every Omega as a plaything then break their hearts, and in the end, I wouldn't even have feelings for my fated mate." Mr. Kim finishes.
His coldness reaches me, and I shiver. I know it's not directed towards me, but his aura is so dark right now. He has lots of frustration inside him. I grab his arm, signaling him to calm down.
"Taehyung," his mother pleads. "Try to understand. You're our everything."
"Mom, it is decided by Jungkook, and I stand by his decision."
"Baby, please," she touches Mr. Kim's cheek, tears on her eyes. "That baby—"
"—is mine." He moves her hand. "That baby is my flesh and blood. I need to do what needs to be done as a father."
A tear slips from my eyes. It's so unbelievable that he has changed so much.
"Taehyung!" She fumes. "You can have another child. That child isn't importa—
"You're wrong!" I answer her with the same voice. How can she disrespect my child this way. "That's a whole human, not a toy."
"How dare you talk to me like this?" She narrows her eyes. "What do you know about the love for your child? You just want it just so you can enjoy my son's wealth."
"MOM!" Taehyung growls, frightening me, even his own mother. He raises his finger at her, "Don't ever say anything like this to him."
His father pulls back his shocked mother a bit.
"Taehyung," his father scolds. "This disrespectful behavior!"
"I'm not being disrespectful," he clarifies. "I'm making boundaries: never dare to disrespect Jungkook ever. I won't tolerate it."
"How do you know he's the one for you?" His father tries to back up the mother who is still in shock. "You can have the family with somebody of our status. He's no match with us."
It pangs in my heart that my lips tremble from the insult.
"If it was the case, uncle, then why did you mary Aunt. She's a middle-class Omega," Jimin hyung interrupts, silencing Mr. Kim's father. He looks defeated.
"And you're talking about wealth, let me tell you that your son has a poor personality that no one stands," Mr. Kim insults himself. "Have you ever wondered what drove Namjoon hyung far from you?"
"ENOUGH!" Master Jooseob's echoes through the room. "I've heard enough. I'll make the final decision: we will save both the child and the father."

Hope you enjoyed the chapter 💕 😊
⚫️ What's your opinion about Mr. and Mrs. Kim?
In this chapter, I chose Jungkook to save the baby to highlight how our mothers sacrifice everything without even seeing our faces. Nothing can beat a mother's love. Moreover, saving the baby becomes relevant to the story, too.
XOXO 😘
