PART 5
Nandini enters the room & saw the front wall bearing a big photograph of manik n hers. The picture was of their college days. It was surrounded by many small photographs of fab 5, navya & she herself. As she saw those beautiful memories in front of her, tears started rolling down her cheeks. She asked kaka about the owner of the house & he told him that the house belonged to fab5. Nandini was taken aback by this & then she asked again: and this room???
Kaka: ohh this room is of Manik baba…… whenever he comes, he never ever leaves this room….
Nandini: (to herself) Manik’s room, with my pictures….. no ayiappa, this can’t be. Manik is waiting for me till now & that too so patiently…. He loves me so much & I….. I betrayed him, when I was going on ahead in my life, he was sitting here all time waiting for me to return….. How could I do this to him….
Her silent tears had now become a load cry, kaka was shocked seeing her cry. Then she said “How could I do this to him…. How could i????” and ran out.
Kaka: madam…..
But she didn’t even listen to a word & ran downstairs. She picked up her bag & walked towards the door hurriedly. Just then a piece of paper fell down from her purse. Kaka picked it up & ran behind her, outside the house but before he could reach her, he saw her getting into a cab & leaving the place. He returned back to the house, fully confused about why the girl ran away like this..
A few mins later, fab 5 reached there. As the owners of the house entered, kaka ran hurriedly towards them & said,
Kaka: kitne time baad aap sab ko yahan dekhkar bahut achcha lag rha h, u all sit I’ll get something for u all…
Fab 5 settled down in the living area & remembered their beautiful moments spent over there, they had some snacks & relaxed there. About an hour later, kaka said,
Kaka: Manik baba, you know today that madam in that photograph came here…
Manik: which madam kaka…..
He was not so interested in his talks but he didn’t wish to insult him by not answering….
Kaka: That same one who is in the photograph with u in ur room….
Listening this all the ppl in the room got up in shock,
Manik: what….. u mean nandini….??
Kaka: I don’t know her name??
Manik slowly went near him & said “chaliye kaka..” he slowly took him upstairs, though not able to walk properly & entered his room.
Manik: kaka, r u sure, that she is the same girl whom u met today…
Kaka: yes beta, I m sure…
Kaka narrated the entire incident to him, how nandini came there & saw those pictures & then left crying saying those words…… Manik’s face was full of happiness listening to all that, whereas the others were still shocked. Then manik hugged kaka n turned towards them,
Manik: see guys I told u na…. now I m sure that she was nandini only in the hospital & this time I will get her anyhow…..
All of them, were really happy for him & they all shared a nice group hug. Then manic turned towards kaka,
Manik: kaka, do u hv any idea…. Where is she staying or anything else…
Kaka: beta, she just left the country….she was saying that she has to catch a flight, she was going to the international airport….. and while running she dropped this paper.
Manik took the paper, from him & read….. it had a no. written on it with the names, “rosy & jane”.
Aliya: maybe its some1’s phone no.
Mukti: no aliya, see it just has 9 digits… it can’t be a phone no.
Cabir: but some other no….. may be pin code or roll no. lets check.
They all settled down, inside the room & cabir got his laptop out. He searched that no. on the internet & after about 30 mins found out that it was a pin code of a place in Australia.
Manik: Australia…… what is she doing there???
Cabir: manik, maybe its something else…. Someone would hv given her this paper…
Manik: no cabir, see its her handwriting only, I can surely say that she has written this…. Whatever it is I hv to find out & 4 that I need to go to Australia.
And to this all of then shouted together… “no!!!”
Dhruv: buddy, u can’t go anywhere…. Dr. has strictly said that travelling is not good for u, ur wounds r still fresh.
Manik: I don’t care man. All I knw is dat I need 2 go n get her back.
Aliya: manik, listen carefully…. We all knw that u love her a lot, but v too love u & hence we can’t let u risk ur life, u go wherever u want to go but after 10 days….. not now, n this time v r not listening to u at all.
Manik: but guys-
Mukti: no buts manik… u can’t go now & that’s it.
Manik( to himself): sorry guys but this time I can’t afford to loose her, I knw u all care 4 my life…. But life isn’t worth without her. I m really sorry.
As they left after a few hrs, manik got his tickets booked & left the country during the night. The next mrng, kaka woke up & went to check on manik in his room & found the room empty. He searched the entire house but couldn’t find manik anywhere. And finally he called cabir.
Cabir on the other side, was still sleeping, when his phone rang. He picked it up without even seeing the caller’s name.
Cabir: hello…. Kon h yr itni subah subah..
Kaka: cabir beta, actually manik baba is not in his room….. I searched the entire house but couldn’t find him anywhere???
Cabir: what??? Kahan gya itni subah????? I mean where can he be he hasn’t even recovered properly.
Kaka: I knw, that’s y I called u..
Cabir: ohk u don’t worry, I m coming..
Cabir immediately got up & rushed outside his room with the car keys… navya saw him running out n asked the matter. He told her about the call & she accompanied him. Half n hour later they reached there & rushed towards manik’s room & found no one there. Kaka came towards them n cabir asked him the entire matter. Cabir was talking to kaka, when navya noticed a piece of paper peeping out from under the pillow. She picked it up n saw that it was a letter.
Navya: cabir…
Cabir: yes…what happened??
Navya: manik has left a letter…
Cabir took it from her n read it aloud…
“Guys…. I m really sorry 4 all this, but I had no other option left with me. I don’t knw whether it’s a pin code or any thing else, but even if there is 1% chance of nandini being in Australia, then I hv to go there n check. U all love me a lot n don’t want me to risk my life, but u aren’t understanding that my life lies with nandini & within nandini……. Without her I m just nothing. I can’t live without her n u all hv seen what I hv become in the last 7 yrs. There r many possibilities from here , maybe I m wrong n she isn’t in Australia , or maybe she is there but I don’t get her, or even if I get her maybe now she is married n is happy in her life. But the possibility on which I want to believe is that she is there n is waiting for me to get her back here. I want to be what I was earlier, I wish to be happy now….. I hv seen all of u feeling sad for me, seeing me missing her, & now I m fed up with it. So this time I hv decided that its my final turn. Either I get her back with me or I get back alone leaving all her memories here itself & ready to move on in life to the next step. Please try to understand…. I’ll call u as soon as I reach Australia, don’t worry for me I’ll be fine…
Sorry again…”
Both cabir n navya had tears in their eyes. Cabir folded the letter n kept it into his pocket & with this they return back home.
