It's since a week Rooh got discharged from the hospital.Life felt different now-lighter, warmer. There was this constant buzz of happiness humming in the background of everything.I visited her many times with Vihaan and Anya. Today I am going to meet my Rooh alone at her home. With no wasting a minute, I put on a lavender shirt and white pants. I didn't take a minute to decide that because she-my Rooh is a admirer of lavender shades.
By taking a deep breath,I rang the horning bell of her house's door. Her mother answered, warm smile on her face.
"Ah, Come in Rahul. She's in the living room" she said.
I walked in and saw her curled up on the couch, a blanket draped over her legs. She was reading a book, her brow furrowed in concentration. As if sensing my presence, she looked up and smiled-a smile that made my heart skip a beat every single time.
"Raah, you're here," she said, setting the book aside.
"Of course. Did you think I'd miss a chance to see you?" I teased, handing her lavender flowers. She rolled her eyes but took the bouquet, her fingers brushing against mine. "Lavenders? How did you manage to get it here. It's not available here right?" She asked. " I got it accidentally your luck and you know I am being the best boyfriend to my girl" I grinned, sitting beside her.I hided the fact that I had travelled many kilometres to get that lavenders for her. But I didn't want her to know that because she'll scold me for doing all these things just for her.
Her cheeks flushed, and she looked away, trying to hide her smile. "Idiot."
We sat in comfortable silence for a while, the air filled with the soft rustle of pages as she returned to her book. I couldn't help but stare at her, marveling at how lucky I was.
"Stop staring," she said without looking up, her lips twitching into a smirk.
"How can I stop admiring my whole world!! ," I replied, leaning back against the couch. "You're too distracting."
She shook her head, but her smile grew wider.
"By the way," I said, changing the subject, "Vihaan and Anya are planning a small get-together tomorrow. They're calling it a 'celebration of survival.' You in?"
She laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Celebration of survival? Why?"
"Hey, I think it's fitting. After everything that happened, we deserve a little fun."
She nodded, her expression softening. "Yeah, we do. I'll come."
Just then, her mother walked in with a tray of tea and snacks. "You guys are having some fun talks na?," she said, setting the tray on the table.
"Always, Aunty," I replied, flashing her a grin.
Her mother shook her head fondly. "Rahul, you're here so often, I might as well adopt you."
