Shelli's POV

When I woke up, Grace wasn't in her bed and the window screen was wide open as the bright light shined through. That got me wondering: how come Ann didn't shine when ever the sunlight was on her? If, she was a vampire. I kept wondering while I entered the bathroom and had a very long shower under hot water. I changed into a black tank top and black shorts that was inside the guest wardrobe. I walked out of the room and skipped down the hall. As I walked past, there was other people standing around or walking by. They eyed me curiously as I skipped. I eyes then back not knowing what they were so annoyed about. I was going to press the button on the lift in front of me when I was pushed to the wall next to me by my throat. The person who was chocking me had dark brown eyes, but it looked creepy as his skin was pale. I couldn't talk, can't breath. His hands were ice cold as he held them. All of a sudden, everyone from the hallway walked towards, but none of them stopped the crazy man trying to kill me. That's when I realised what they were: vampires! Darn it! I'm dead.

Just as I let go of the last hope, the lift opened up revealing the exact person I need. Ann. My eyes widen as I tried to ask her for help, but she didn't need to know, she was all ready pushing the vampires' will full force to get to me. I thanked the God as she pull the strong mans grip off me.

"Move away from her!" She yelled to the top of her lungs. I realised her hair was red again. Great. The man balanced himself up and smirked.

"I won't need to Ann. I think you would do our job for us." He said coldly. I saw Ann in confusion as she shock her head and turned towards me. I saw her yellow eyes and freaked out.

"Shelli! Are you okay? Can you breath?" She panicked. The most important thing is, she didn't eat me! She didn't eat me! I sign in relief as I nodded.

"Ann. You didn't eat me." I said. Just as it came out of my mouth, I realised how dirty that sounded. She seemed to understand where I'm coming from and smiled to herself.

"Yes, I know. I just realised too." She said turning back to the big man. "What did you say? I would do your job?" She asked and then turned to me again. "Gosh, you could've called me before you came out! You knew vampires live here." She scowled me. I felt like a kid once again. "You are so lucky I chose this time to come and wake you up."

I looked up at the vampires and smiled. I decided that he needed another chance and walked towards him, Ann was freaking out thinking I hit my head. "Hello. I'm Shelli. Ann's cousin." I stated. They were surprised as the big male who was so close to killing me a second ago, shook my hand. I smiled at his action, thank god he didn't slap me!

"Em.. Hale." He said as he let go of my hand, that's when I realised that his hands were really cold. "Sorry, I didn't know you were Ann's cousin. If I did, I wouldn't have you know.." He said pointing at the wall. I smiled. He looked uncomfortable so I turned to Ann and told her I'll go down stairs for breakfast. She nodded.

"You go, it's safe down there. I'll just talk to these vamps here and come."  Vamps, nice nickname.

I opened the lift door and walked inside. Wow, that was a great way to start today, I told myself as the lift went down.

As I walk into the living room, everyone was laughing and watching the cricket. When I walked down they all looked at me. "Where's Ann? She went up to wake you?" Jess asked. I smiled as I take another step.

"We had a little incident, she went to talk things out." I said shyly. They questioned as I told them what happened. They were looking at each other liking they were going to kill the vampires. "No, it's okay. He didn't know that I was a guest." I said.
