We didn't meet after the rally; he had been busy taking over responsibilities, while I was buried in my studies.

Finally, with our last exam over, Madhuri and I were walking back to our hostel. A part of me was relived but now, it also meant I had to return to Allahabad.

Ahh, I love my family but it's different here. Here, I am free, independent and capable of dealing with things on my own, not being spoon-fed like at home.

Switching on my phone as we walked, I noticed three missed calls from Thakur Sahab.

"Inhein kya ho gaya?" I muttered to myself, confused. Madhuri bumped her shoulder into mine with a teasing grin. "Someone can't wait for you!"

(What happened to him?)

I shook my head, dismissing her teasing and dialed him back.

"How was your exam?" Randeer asked casually picking the call after two rings. "Huh?" I frowned, he isn't the one to initiate soft talks. "I am with Veer uncle." He added. Ohh isiliye aese normal cheezein puch rahe.

(That's why I'm asking such normal things.)

"How did you reach Allahabad so quickly?" I asked in disbelief. "I meant, he's here in Banaras and we're coming to pick you up directly from college, Miss Sherlock Holmes!" Randheer scoffed, making me flustered.

"Papa!" I glee side-hugging him as he, along with Randheer, waited outside the college gate.

"Namaste, Uncle!" Madhuri chirped, touching his feet. "Namaste, beta!" he replied warmly. "Inke bhaiya ki shaadi hai. Aap bhi zarur aana!" he added with a warm smile.

(Greetings/ His brother's wedding is coming up. You must come too!)

I blinked in shock, turning my gaze from Papa to Randheer, who stood beside him looking utterly disinterested.

"Bhai is getting married and you didn't even tell me?!" I snapped at randheer keeping my voice hush.

"For me to tell you, I would first need to know myself, no?" he replied dryly as I bit my tongue stopping myself from expressing further irritation.

"Randheer, we didn't expect you to announce your relationship like that!" Papa commented casually as we settled into the car with Randheer driving us to my hostel to collect my bags. "Uncle, it was a demand of the situation." He responded calmly.

While they continued their light conversation, I snuggled in the back seat, silently gazing at the roads of banaras a feeling of longing settling deep in my heart.

"You are not leaving banaras for ever eventually you will return here marrying your Thakur Sahab!" came my conscious and my gaze involuntary shifted on him.
