I could hear the sirens wailing in the distance. I have to be smarter and faster than the cops in this one. My hitman couldn't finish the task I gave him and I wound up doing his dirty work. Silly me thinking I could kill a girl without being seen in a public area. Now here I am running from the law once again. That's okay. I may not have been trained to kill, but I was trained to hide from the cops.
Here in Litchfield there are two places you can go to hide from the law. We have a lose sewage cap near Carrison Street. That is usually the best one to hide in but if for some reason you can't get over there, Off of the park we have some woods that lead to a lake. I like to call it "Escape Lake" because that is all it is useful for. The idiots never check there.
It seems today I need to go into the woods and on to the trail to Escape Lake. On my run over, I thought i heard something splash into the water. I realised it was just raining. I was almost there now. I can hear the police yelling in the woods following a different trail. I was running so fast that by the time I got to the lake I noticed I still had my gun in my hand and there were people at the lake. I stopped dead in my tracks and cussed under my breath.
The oldest one glanced at my gun and almost instantly screamed giving away my position.
