The loud banging startled me awake from one of those teleporting sleeps. Rubbing my eyes, I opened the door to find Reena didi "Didi, sab aapko neeche bula rahe hain!" She panted softly.

(Didi, everyone is calling you downstairs!)

Saransh?

Negative thoughts clouded my mind as I washed my face, tying my hairs roughly before heading downstairs hurriedly.

"Parthvi, why didn't you tell us?" Papa's stern voice made my heart sink. "Papa, uhmm!" I stammered anxiously descending the stairs.

"Let it be, Uncle; she must have forgotten!" Randheer's voice interrupted and I turned to find him sitting at the table, a smug smirk playing on his lips and my eyes widened in disbelief.

"Come sit with him!" Maa said warmly, arranging a table with snacks for her precious son-in-law.

With hesitance, I sat beside him leaning slightly towards him I taunted "Someone was busy!"

"And yet, that someone is sitting here with you now!"  he taunted back with a tight lipped smile.

Feeling his burning gaze a soft blush crept up my cheeks, shaking my head I sat straight involuntary catching Saransh's cold gaze from across the room.

He stood in the corner, gripping a glass tightly, his knuckles turning white as though the glass would shatter any moment.

"Parthvi, are you listening?" Papa's voice jolted me back to the conversation about Bhai's wedding preparations.

Parthvi's sudden call had thrown me off. Leaving my meeting midway, I drove to Allahabad and now here I am, trailing behind her like a lost puppy because she is not ready to talk anywhere near her family and to make matters worse her family isn't ready to leave us alone.

I tugged her wrist, pulling her back against the wall. Startled she placed her hands on my chest to steady herself.

"Aapki in harkaton se humein heart attack aa jaega kisi din!" Parthvi glared playfully. I shook my head at her antics releasing her wrist.
