Close the Gate

History:

The year was 7000, the year all hell broke loose, literally. I guess the word most often used to describe this kind of phenomenon is, 'apocalypse'. When the gate of hell burst open and the demons were set loose, they banned together and destroyed the sun. 9/10's of the human population perished, the rest of the human race took shelter under a dome with an artificial sun hoisted up in the centre. Sunlight, not only is it necessary to maintain life, but it is the only weakness the demons have that can be used to the humans advantage. After years and years of tinkering with some of the worlds smartest brains they discovered a way to use sunlight as a weapon, either destroying or scaring away any demons that dared come near the dome, but even that wasn't enough. They started trying to create an advanced humanoid race called Xfighters, they fused sunlight into their Dna code and increased their strength, hearing and eyesight by a significant amount. In the early 7,200's they believed that they were ready and sent an army fleet to the gates to try and shut it once and for all so we could purify the land, but not one returned. After that the Xfighter initiative was scrapped. It is the year 7,500 and once again, we're ready to take the fight to the gate.
