I was awoken by someone calling my name and shaking my shoulders. As If on reflex, I sat straight up to see who was waking me. My eyes adjusted and I looked around wondering where I was. I looked to my left to see a tired Ashton rubbing his eyes and in front of me a tall, gorgeous blonde woman. I was trying to figure what I was doing here when the events from last night came back to me. I sighed and rested my head on the pillow.

"Ashton. Tori. You should probably get up," Jo said laughing at us.

"What time is it?" I mumbled into my pillow.

"Almost noon," she replied. Ashton groaned and threw his pillow at her.

"Too. Early," he said laying his head on the mattress. Jo laughed again and decided to rip the blankets off of us. I curled my legs up to my chest due to the surprise cold air. "What the HELL!" Ashton yelled sitting up for the first time this morning.

"Finally you're up," Jo said. I could tell me the sound of her voice she was grinning.

"Why did you wake me up? It's Saturday?" Ashton asked.

"Well I thought that we could-" Jo's voice was slowly muffled as sleep overcame me once again.

"Tori. Tori get up." Ashton shook my shoulders and I groaned.

"What do you want, Ash?" I grumbled.

"You have to get ready for shopping." I sat up and looked at him.

"Shopping?"

"Ya. My mom is taking you clothes shopping today."

"Oh," I said. "That's nice of her."

"Well you better get ready." I nodded and hopped out of bed ready to get dressed. Wait, dressed? I don't have any clothes I thought.

"Um, Ash," I said as he rummaged through his dresser.

"Mhm."

"What do I wear?" He seemed to stop and think for a second before handing me a smaller T-shirt of his and a pair of short jean shorts.

"You can wear this. The shorts are my younger cousin's but I thought you were small enough to fit in them," he said smiling.

"Thanks, Ash." We turned our backs to each other and got changed. The shorts did fit me and even were a little big. Ashton wore a pair of skinny jeans and a band T-shirt that he had made into a cutoff. We walked up the stairs to see Jo making breakfast.

"Good morning, Tori and Ash. How did you sleep?" She asked while flipping a pancake.

"I slept great," Ashton said giving me a small grin. "What about you, Tor?"

"I slept the best in a long time." He nodded with approval and what looked like relief which made me suspect him curling up with me wasn't on accident.

"I'm glad you're comfortable here," Jo said. "You better get used to it if you're gonna be living here."

"I want to thank you again for talking me in. It means a lot to me and now you're taking me clothes shopping? This is more than I could ever ask for."

"Well, it's kind of what I do," she replied. "I can't have kids of my own so I take in kids who need a parent figure in there life." Isn't Ashton her kid though I thought to myself. I looked up at Ash and he mouthed 'later'. I nodded and took a seat on one of the stools. Jo placed two plates of food on the table and Ashton dug right in. I only ate about one pancake and a piece of bacon so I gave the rest to Ash. Soon after we were heading into the doors of the mall.

"Okay, where do you wanna head first?" Jo asked me. I looked around to take in the stores I could see from here.

"Um, I don't know know. I've never really been to the mall," I relied. Jo's head snapped my way and she looked at me like I was alien. Then her face softened into a smile as she understood.

"Well I know lots of stores we can go to." Jo pulled me to the left and we started shopping. We didn't leave a single store without a bag of clothes or shoes. To me it all seemed like too much. Like why would someone be so willing to do this for a kid they new nothing about? I was grateful for sure but it just felt like she was giving me more than needed.

"Where do you wanna go next?!" Jo excitedly asked. I looked down at the many bags that were swinging from my arms and wrists.

"Um, I think I'm good on clothes for now," I replied. Jo nodded but I could tell she wanted to shop more and she did.

"How about we go shopping for room decor!?" I didn't want to be rude and say no but I didn't feel like doing more shopping.

"I think this is enough for today, Mom. Let's save that for another day," Ashton said as if he was reading my mind. Jo nodded.

"Okay, okay. Let's go home then." We left the mall, bags in all of our hands and hopped in the car to go home. Ashton had to play his band's music the whole time and I loved it.

When we got back to the house we managed to get all the bags inside and downstairs in one trip. We set them all down on Ashton's bed.

"You had fun today, right?" Jo asked. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her.

"Of course I had fun. Thank you so much for all of this. This is way more than I deserve," I said gesturing to the clothes.

"This is nothing. I told I would treat you like my own and I am determined to do that. Plus, it's fun to finally have someone to shop with." She pulled away from the hug and winked. "I'm gonna go upstairs. Make sure you help Tori put her clothes away, Ash." He nodded and Jo headed upstairs. Ash and I sat on the floor and started sorting through the bags.

"So, what was your mom talking about this morning?" I casually asked.

"What do you mean?"

"You know, when she said she couldn't have kids." I looked over at Ashton at the same time he looked up at me.

"Oh, um, that's because I'm her foster kid. She said she would foster me after a really horrible time at a different foster home," he simply replied.

"So is she gonna adopt you? Because it seems like she considers you her son and everything."

"I'm not sure. I hope so because I don't want to have to move again." This whole time he was talking about this his eyes stayed turned towards the ground.

"I hope so too. I don't want you to leave." His gorgeous hazel eyes met mine and I gave him a shy smile.

"I like you, Tor. I know that I haven't known you for long at all but I really like you," Ashton said walking over to me.

"I really like you too, Ash." He leaned down so our noses were just inches away. I could feel his breath on my lips. He leaned in further and demolished the space between our faces, kissing me. My first kiss.
