After finishing all his classes, Jimin made his way to the mansion. He found Grandma sitting on the couch, waiting for him. She smiled as soon as she saw him.
"Are you ready for our evening walk, dear?" she asked warmly.
"Yeah, Grandma," Jimin replied, putting his bag down and stretching. "Let's go."
They walked together towards the nearby park, the cool evening breeze brushing through the trees as they strolled. The peaceful atmosphere was just what Jimin needed after a long day at university.
As they walked, Jimin couldn't hold back the question that had been on his mind for a while now. "Grandma, you know Taehyung is my friend."
Grandma glanced at him, surprised. "What? My grandson is your friend?"
Jimin nodded. "Yeah, I didn't know that before, but when I saw Yoongi hyung yesterday, I figured it out. Taehyung once told me that Yoongi hyung is his cousin."
"Oh, so now you know who my grandson is," Grandma said with a knowing smile. "Good. So you know Yoongi from before, right? How does he behave with you, dear?"
Jimin hesitated, unsure of how to explain his mixed feelings. "Umm... he's nice," Jimin said, choosing his words carefully, not wanting to mention the tension that had been between them recently. "He's just a little... distant sometimes."
Grandma nodded as if she understood. "Yeah, I know. Yoongi's a very cold person to everyone. But don't worry, Jimin, he's a good boy deep down. And Taehyung... he's such a bubbly and cheerful boy, always bringing life to the room."
Jimin smiled, thinking of Taehyung's lively personality. "Yeah, Taehyung is really nice. He's always so cheerful."
Grandma chuckled softly, shaking her head. "I'm glad you two get along. Just make sure you're always around people who care for you. Life is too short to be surrounded by negativity."
Jimin nodded, feeling grateful for Grandma's wisdom and care. As they walked through the park, the soft rustling of the leaves and the setting sun's glow made everything feel peaceful. It was a quiet moment, but it meant a lot to Jimin.
Jimin walked alongside Grandma as they strolled through the park, the evening air cool and calm. After a few minutes of silence, curiosity got the better of him, and he couldn't help but ask a question that had been lingering in his mind.
"Umm, Grandma, you're Min, and he's Kim Taehyung... then how is he your grandson? I mean, I'm just curious," Jimin asked, trying to keep his tone casual but genuinely puzzled.
Grandma looked at him for a moment, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She then nodded, as if ready to share a part of the family's story.
"Ah, I see you're curious about that," she said with a thoughtful tone. "Well, it's a bit of a story, but I'm happy to tell you."
She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "When me and my husband first had Yoongi's father, we were in the hospital. We were so excited, and your grandpa was over the moon to know it was a boy. But, on the same day, something happened that would change our family forever."
Jimin's curiosity piqued as he listened, eager to hear the rest of the story. Grandma paused for a moment before continuing.
Grandma continued as they walked along the path, the soft rustle of leaves in the evening breeze creating a peaceful backdrop to her story.
"At the hospital that day, there was another woman who had just given birth. Sadly, her husband had passed away in an accident just a few weeks before. When she gave birth to her son, she had no family to support her, no one to take him in. After she passed away, the baby boy was left all alone. No relatives came to claim him," Grandma explained, her voice softening as she spoke of the tragedy.
Jimin's heart tightened as he listened. It was such a sad and unexpected turn of events.
"When your grandfather found out about the little boy, he couldn't bear the thought of him being alone, without a family. So, he made the decision right then and there to adopt him. We took him in that very day and raised him as our own. We gave him the name Kim Taewoon, Because the lady who gave birth to that boy was kim taehee" Grandma added with a nostalgic smile. "That little boy grew up to be Taehyung's father, and Taehyung became the grandson we cherish so much."
Jimin was taken aback. He had no idea about this part of their family history.
"Wow, that's... such a beautiful thing to do," Jimin said quietly, his admiration for Grandma growing. "I never would've guessed."
Grandma chuckled softly, a warm, content smile on her face. "It wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one. And now, Taehyung's a wonderful young man, just like his father was." She glanced at Jimin with a twinkle in her eye. "And now, you've become part of this story too."
Jimin smiled shyly, feeling a deep sense of gratitude toward this family. "I'm really lucky, Grandma."
She patted his hand gently. "We're lucky to have you here, Jimin."
As they walked further into the park, Jimin's mind drifted back to the mansion, to Yoongi, and to the strange emotions he had been trying to make sense of. But now, with the story Grandma shared, he felt a little more connected to everything, understanding a bit more about the people around him.
As they continued walking, After some time they reached the mansion. Jimin turned to Grandma and said, "Grandma, I'm going to freshen up and have some dinner. I'll come to your room after that to bring you the medicines."
Grandma nodded, smiling gently. "Alright, take your time. I'll be waiting for you."
After a while, Jimin made his way back to the cottage, feeling the calmness of the evening. He freshened up quickly, changed into comfortable clothes, and went to the kitchen for a quick meal.
Once he finished Jimin walked back to the mansion, he gathered the medicines from the cupboard, just as he had done earlier. With the small box of medicines in hand he made his way through the big hallway, hearing the quiet hum of the house around him. When he reached Grandma's room, he knocked softly before entering.
"Here are your medicines, Grandma," Jimin said as he placed them on the table next to her.
Grandma looked up and smiled, her eyes full of warmth. "Thank you, Jimin. You're very thoughtful."
Jimin smiled back, feeling a sense of comfort in the routine. "Of course, Grandma. It's no trouble."
The two of them sat together for a while, the peaceful atmosphere of the mansion around them. Jimin felt grateful for the kindness he had found here.
