— Nicolas was stuck in his thoughts

Nicolas was stuck in his thoughts. The past few days had been weird, to day the least; Jackson had found Scott's lacrosse glove left on the floor with puncture marks through the fingertips. A bus driver had gotten brutally attacked and Scott seemed to know him though no one else did. Jackson's locker was all busted up with Scott staring at and standing near the corner of the hall. The very next day, a guy that looked very ill came up to Jackson looking for Scott and when Jackson hadn't told him where he was—he punctured the back of his neck with his nails. Overall, a very weird few days that all connected to Scott.

His thoughts were cut through when a sharp shiver went up his spine. Nicolas looked to see what had jumped him out of his thoughts to see Jackson turned back in the passenger seat. "Nick, did you hear what I asked?"

Nicolas glanced over at Lydia, who was driving them to Video 2⭐️C in her Volkswagen Beetle before looking at Jackson in confusion. Jackson sighed as he asked again. "What movies do you want to rent went we get there?"

Nicolas almost lit up like a Christmas light at the question. "Oh! I've been dying to rewatch Friday the 13th, Kill Bill, or Blade. Oooo! Or one of the Spider-man movies!"

Jackson raised a brow. "Again? What is it with you and gory movies?" Nicolas shrugged but didn't seem to see the problem with it, he liked them so he was going to watch them until he got bored of them.

"Well, what movie do you want to get?" Jackson smirked. "Hoosiers. You know, the best basketball and sports movie ever." Nicolas pursued his lips together, Jackson sure did like anything sports related.

Lydia raised a brow and did her usual fake thinking face. "Hm. I don't know, I feel like we should get The Notebook." Jackson seemed offended as they pulled up to Video 2⭐️C.

"Oh, come on Lydia. Hoosiers not only has Gene Hackman but also Dennis Hopper!" Lydia pouted her lips out tightly. "No."

Jackson began to get frustrated as he tried to convince Lydia. "Lydia, I swear to god you're gonna like it." "No." "I'm not watching The Notebook again!" Lydia gave him a look and he just gave up as he and Nicolas got out of the car and went into the store.

They walked in and looked at the first set of shelves that held many rentable movies but none of which were The Notebook. "Can somebody help us find The Notebook?" Jackson asked as a telephone somewhere in the store rang and the lights above buzzed and flickered slightly.

"Hello?" Jackson glanced back at Nicolas, who shrugged, before trying again. "Is anybody working here?" No response as the telephone kept ringing. "You gotta be kidding me."

"Maybe they're in the back? There can't be no one working here, right?" Jackson shrugged at Nicolas's question before walking further down the lane. He stopped abruptly as he saw a pair of feet peaking around from the last shelf on the ground.
