⇄ ◃◃ ⅠⅠ ▹▹ ↻The door clicked softly behind them as they all took their seats, a mix of unease and curiosity lingering on their faces. Nurse Katuya stood by her desk, a clipboard in her hands, her expression unreadable. The usual calmness in her demeanor was replaced by something more guarded—something none of them could quite place.
For a moment, there was silence. The kind of silence that made the walls feel like they were closing in. The boys exchanged glances, none of them willing to break it, but all of them wondering the same thing.
Finally, Kure couldn't take it anymore. His voice cut through the quiet like a knife.
"So, what's going on, Katuya?" He leaned forward in his chair, his hands gripping the edge of the armrests. "Why'd they call us all down here?"
Katuya didn't answer right away.
The boys chatted among themselves, their imaginations running wild with speculation. Nurse Katuya took a deep breath, but before she could speak, her eyes met Kamiwaii's. His gaze was fixed on her—intense, unwavering. It wasn't just expectant; it was insistent, almost demanding.
She exhaled sharply. "Alright, guys, listen up!"
The room fell silent instantly.
Her eyes swept over the group before she continued. "I had you all called down here because I've come across some information... and I have no doubt that every single one of you played a part in it."
The room remained silent for a moment, the weight of Katuya's words settling over the boys like a thick fog.
Confused glances were exchanged and brows were furrowed.
"Played a part in what, exactly?" Furai questioned, crossing his arms.
"Man, what is you even talking about, so you're saying this reexamination screening isn't real?" Kodomo said as he shifted in his seat.
Katuya huffed. "It was the only way I could get you guys down here without suspicion, okay."
Kure let out a scoff. "Katuya, you're being real vague right now. We all played a part in what?"
Sutō leaned back in his chair, looking skeptical. "Yeah, this sounds like you're fishing for something. If you're gonna accuse us, at least tell us what we supposedly did."
Sutō shot Kamiwaii a glance, as if expecting him to speak, but Kamiwaii remained still, his gaze locked on Katuya. He could see the way her fingers gripped the clipboard just a little too tightly, the slight tension in her jaw. Whatever this was, it wasn't just a guessing game.
She knew something.
Then, without breaking eye contact, Kamiwaii spoke. His voice was low but firm.
"This is about Dr. Wonk."
The boys all froze.
Katuya's grip on the clipboard tightened ever so slightly. She exhaled slowly, then placed it down on the desk beside her.
"I went to the center." She finally said.
A thick silence followed.
"The center?" Kūrī shifted uncomfortably.
"Dr. Wonk's office. The now burnt-down behavioral center." Katuya corrected, her eyes sweeping across the room.
The tension in the room sharpened. The boys sat up a little straighter, some glancing at one another, others avoiding eye contact altogether.
