Finn's POV

"YOUR HOMECOMING QUEEN THIS YEAR... IS... FINNLEY ESPINOSA!" The microphone rang in my ear. Why would anyone want to vote for me? The cheer squad gave me their best 'oh shit' face. Chloe sat with them, crying.

The people that surrounded me pushed me towards the little stage set up on the field. They placed a little tiara on my head and handed me a bouquet of flowers. YOUR HOMECOMING KING AND QUEEN!" Our principal shouted.

I laughed and looked down at the flowers. "This isn't funny, you know." Nash stared at me, arms crossed. I laughed again, staring into his bright blue eyes. From that, I got a reaction. A small giggle escaped his mouth. I giggled. Back and forth. Repeating each other.

Moments like this, make me feel so surreal. I feel like I'm in a different world. Just me, and Nash. I don't get why things like this have to be complicated. Nash makes me happy. But he's not mine. He will never be. Something will always be there, ripping us apart. We were never meant to be, yet we act like it.

"Okay you two, walk off the field, leading everyone." The principal smiled at us.

"Finnley. This isn't right, but it is, but it's just, you're supposed to be Chloe. I just don't feel that comfortable around you. Chloe said that it's either you or her..." Nash stared straight forward.

"I understand. Some girls are just like that. You can never have any other girl in your life. I'm surprised she isn't attacking you for living with your mom." I smiled.

"I... Don't know... I'm going to see Chloe." Nash twiddled his thumbs.
"I'm coming with you."
"Why?"
"To apologize."

We walked over to Chloe, who didn't exit the field. "Nash!" She screamed, soaking his shirt with tears. I stood there, awkwardly.

"What are you doing here?" Chloe stared at me, looking down at me like I'm a fucking roach. "I just wanted to apologize. I didn't want to win this title, and you obviously deserve it. I'm sorry." "Well. I could give less fucks about that. There is no changing it now. There's one thing I can change. You stay away from Nash. I'm telling you, bad things will happen if you don't."

I just stood there and nodded my head. I could've responded, but I decided against it. I ran out of the stadium, not really knowing how to feel.
