A Little Bit of Love & Hate (Luke Hemmings & Barbara Palvin)

Chapter 13

Valerie's POV

I stood there in shock, my head filled with so many different thoughts. Why would he kiss me? Isn't he dating Madisen? Luke stood there, smiling, but had a face filled with regret, hurt, and happiness. Possibly the weirdest combination there is.

All I kept thinking is, where's Niall? I kissed Luke back, this means I cheated. I didn't mean to, I thought Luke was Niall. If I knew it was Luke, I wouldn't have done it.

Someone yelling interrupts my thoughts.

"I thought you were different, how could you do this to me?"

I look behind me to see Madisen, crying with Niall by her side. He just looks at me with hurt filled eyes.

"Niall I can explain I—" I start to explain before getting cut off.

"Why did you do it? I left for a few minutes to use the bathroom and come back to find you two going at it." He responds.

"Please let me explain everything to you." I say.

"You have two minutes." Niall says with a sigh.

"Okay, so when you left to use the bathroom, I went to get a drink and I saw Luke in there as well. I heard the countdown so I walked back into the main room to look for you. When the countdown hit 1, I felt someone grab my waist and spin me around, right at that second, he kissed me; you do that so I assumed it was you. That's when we pulled apart and I realized it was him, not you." I try to say quickly, but slow enough for him to understand.

He just looks at me with no expression.

"Okay." He states.

"What happens now?" I ask.

"I think we need to break up. It was bound to happen eventually, we were meant to be just friends. Are you okay with that?"

"Yeah. Just promise me something?"

"Anything."

"Please don't let me get awkward when it comes to the two of us." I say with a small laugh.

"Sure thing." He responds with a small laugh as well.

We hug and he places a small kiss to my cheek. He then goes into how he's supposed to be leaving because the lads have a show in a few days.

Luke's POV

I don't know why I kissed Val. I mean I do, but I don't know why I acted on it. Ever since she started dating Niall, I haven't seen her once. The last time I saw her it was her birthday, which was in October. It's January.

When I saw her looking for Niall, who was nowhere to be found, I began looking for Madisen who wasn't around anywhere I could see. I saw her just standing there at the end of the countdown and just acted on my thoughts not realizing the possible damage that could be caused.

Her and Niall seemed to be having a little argument in the corner and Madisen was currently interrogating me, my full attention was on Val and Niall, they were hugging.

I just kissed her, her kissing back and they're hugging?

I don't know what's gonna happen now.

Sorry for the late update and super short chapter, I was going through personal issues and will be taking a break for the next two weeks. I will post short chapters like this until those two weeks are up.
