Inside the cold, dark cave, Nivedita and Anirudh shivered as the icy wind howled through the narrow opening. Their bodies were exhausted, their limbs stiff from walking in the snow for so long.

Nivedita rubbed her arms, her teeth chattering. "Itni thand hai... kuch toh karna padega warna hum dono yahin jam jayenge," she muttered, hugging herself.

Anirudh, equally cold but trying to act unaffected, sighed. "Haan, par hum zyada paas bhi nahi so sakte... samajh rahi ho na?" He scratched the back of his neck, suddenly feeling awkward.

Nivedita rolled her eyes. "Obviously, main bhi yahi keh rahi hoon! Par agar ek dusre ko thodi warmth nahi di toh hum bimaar pad jayenge."

They exchanged hesitant glances before finally deciding on a solution. Anirudh took off his long coat and spread it over both of them like a blanket. Then, sitting close but still maintaining some distance, he gently placed his hands on her shoulders, securing the coat around them.

Nivedita hesitated for a moment before wrapping one arm around his waist, holding him lightly. Her other hand rested on his back, fingers slightly clutching his sweater. "Yeh theek hai na?" she asked softly.

Anirudh swallowed, his heart suddenly beating faster at the close contact. "Haan... bas ab thodi der mein garam ho jayega," he said, trying to ignore how her warm breath tickled his neck.

For a few minutes, they sat in silence, listening to each other's breathing. The warmth of their bodies slowly spread, making the cold a little more bearable.

After a while, Nivedita whispered, "Mujhe lagta hai main thodi der so sakti hoon."

Anirudh nodded. "Theek hai, so jao. Main yahin hoon."

She rested her head against his shoulder, adjusting slightly as she got comfortable. As she slowly drifted off, her grip around his waist tightened unconsciously, making Anirudh stiffen.

He took a deep breath, closing his eyes. *Bas control kar, Anirudh. Yeh sirf warmth ke liye hai...* he reminded himself.

But as the night passed, despite all their efforts to maintain distance, their bodies relaxed into each other, lost in the warmth they found in the middle of the freezing cold.

His heart was beating a little too fast now. Not because of the cold. Not because of fear. But because of her. The way her hands rested against his waist, the way her head fit perfectly against his chest—it was too much, yet not enoughAnirudh let out a shaky breath, hesitantly moving his hand to rest on her back. His fingers lightly pressed against the fabric of her sweater, feeling the rise and fall of her breathing.

As the first rays of sunlight seeped into the cave, Nivedita stirred in her sleep. The warmth around her felt comforting, and for a moment, she snuggled closer, sighing softly. But as soon as her eyes fluttered open, reality hit her like a shockwave.
