Jason Kelce lay sprawled out on his back, the underside of his belly vulnerable to the crisp air circulating through the hotel room as his t-shirt bunched up at his waist. Wyatt Kelce was sat beside him on the bed, pacifier between her lips, and cardboard pages held tightly between her tiny fingers. Defeat hung heavily in the room, the Eagles loss hitting the Philadelphia family hard and close.
Jason hadn't let Kylie see his personal defeat for more than a couple of seconds before he'd built a wall around his emotions and turned his attention to his children, but in the bright lighting, Kylie could see the crease between his brows as he undoubtedly overanalyzed every play of the game. He fished for his phone in his pocket when it buzzed, and the walls around his emotions slipped for a minute as he read the contact name flashing across his screen. It wasn't that he was mad at Travis – no he was incredibly proud and happy for his brother – but it felt somewhat like a slap in the face to see his name in bold letters just as it would be in the tabloids. Jason wasn't jealous, but his heart hurt for the career he was getting ready to leave.
He opened the text message, grinned when he realized that it was a video. He didn't hesitate before playing the video, his niece's face splashed across the screen. She held a pacifier between her lips and a familiar stuffed animal in her hands, and that was enough for Jason to know that at least Travis wasn't entirely guiltless in his rightful high of celebration.
"Dad won." Travis' voice rang through the speaker in Jason's voice, and Kylie visibly tensed in the door frame as she was confronted with the loss once again. Before either adult could comment, because Wyatt and Elliotte hadn't been paying attention in the slightest to do so themselves, loud sobs emitted from the speaker and they could hear Travis laughing just slightly behind the camera. "What's wrong? I thought you wanted Dad to win!"
Kylie trailed across the room to see what Jason was looking at, and her lips curved into a bright smile of pride as she took in the sight of little JJ Kelce sporting flushed cheeks and crocodile tear filled eyes on the screen. She was still in her game day outfit, but her hair had been pulled out of its single ponytail that sat at the top of her head like an antenna. She held a stuffed animal of Swoop in her chubby hand, and kicked at the bed as she sobbed and shook her head. "No!"
"You didn't want Dad to win? Who did you want to win?" Travis kept talking to her, and he reached a hand out to find hers, but little JJ Kelce was having none of her fathers attention, pulling her chubby little hand away and rolling onto her tummy. She sat on her knees, the red Kelce '87' shirt on her torso stained with various things that nobody could identify, and glared at Travis intently.
"Birdies!" Kylie's head tipped backward as she laughed, nodding along to JJ's declaration.
"At least Trav's not getting a clean break either."

Travis' head tipped toward his office door, loud wails penetrating the thick wood as he engaged in a conversation with Jason and Kylie. Headphones muffled the sound just slightly, but nothing could entirely drown out the sound of JJ Kelce losing her mind outside of the office, probably sprawled across the floorboards as she cried into the laminated planks.
"Do you hear that?" Travis couldn't bite back his smile, his eyes flickering back to Kylie and Jason who had noticed his distraction. "JJ's losing her mind, man. She wants to talk to Ky."
