The Meeting

Touch by Troye Sivan

My first party and I'm sat here with an untouched cup of beer in my hand watching my friends play a juvenile game of "Truth or Dare." Obviously the only reason they play is to perform sexual dares without being judged, little do they know my mind is running with multiple judgments for each one who goes through with them.

So far I've seen my first penis, been flashed five times and witnessed some rather sloppy kisses-who kisses like that?

"Flor, you've got to have in on this; it's so fun!" Alex-my best friend-who dragged me here against my will, calls out to me from her spot on the floor. Her black hair is pulled back in a ponytail and some of her eyeliner is smudged, you can tell she's been drinking by the redness in her eyes and the way her words mush together. I shake my head, bringing the cup to my lips and pretending to take a sip. "C'mon, don't be a killjoy!"

"Hey, at least My Chemical Romance appreciates me." I playfully roll my eyes at her and she lets out a small giggle, shaking her head.

"Oh my God, you're so lame." A girl from across the room states loudly. Her breasts are flooding from her tight fitting shirt-you can tell it's the job of an expensive Victoria's Secret bra, or multiple wads of toilet paper-her face is packed with makeup, eyeliner thick and past the ends of her eyebrows. Her hair is terribly dyed, there are parts missed and you can tell her hair is beyond dead by the way it doesn't hang on her face or curl right. Alex threw a chip at the girl, defending me, she just rolled her eyes and averted her attention back to the game.

"Alright, Alexandria. Truth or dare?" Marc, our most eccentric friend, nudged Alex's arms.

"Truth," Alex, she preferred that over her birth name, rolled her eyes at Marc annoyed that he even called her that.

Marc placed a hand on his chin while he thought what to say, but just as he was about to say the dare an obnoxious squeal was heard from the area where Dead Hair sat-I'd been sitting here bored enough to come up with a nickname for this girl.

Everyone seemed unbothered by her squeal so they continued playing, but I couldn't help but look up to see her with her thighs wrapped around a tall boy's torso. Their lips were locked in a sloppy kiss, he placed his hands on her butt and squeezed. I felt awkward right away, taking a swig of my cup immediately regretting it afterwards, the burn of the beer made me cough uncontrollably.

"You alright, Flor?" Marc's eyes were filled with amusement.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I smiled at him before adjusting myself on the plush couch I'd been sitting on for the past hour. I pulled my legs up and folded them under myself, taking my phone out to check the time; it was only ten, the thought of three more hours of sitting here made my head throb.

"Are you sure you don't want to play, you seem awfully bored." Marc said lightly, a little smile on his lips.

"It's an adolescent game, I'd rather not." I flashed a fake smile at him, unlocking my phone and scrolling through my Tumblr feed.

A few minutes went by and I found myself bored again, looking up from my phone and examining the group. Only a handful of them were my friends, the rest were their's-it's amazing how we all ended up at the same college. An unfamiliar face stuck out from the circle, it was a male's, a rather attractive one at that. He was laughing, exposing his smile and it was one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever laid eyes on. His eyes crinkled at the corners, they were a deep emerald in the dim light of this living room. His hair was a mop of curls atop his head, messily spread across but nonetheless looked flawless on him. He wore a white t-shirt, his marked arms exposed, they were each littered with random tattoos-I'm sure they each had a story.
