Chapter Thirty-Three: Ease My Mind

"The following match has been set for one-fall. Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Brittany Cena, from Cincinnati, Ohio, weighing in at 225lbs, he is Mr. Money in the Bank, Dean Ambrose!" JoJo yelled into the microphone.

Dean looked to Brittany, handing her the briefcase before she went over to the announcer's table. He was more concerned for her than ever. He had known all along that there was more to Brittany's story, but he left well-enough alone, not wanting to jeopardize everything.

It was another thing that he had come to love about her. She was strong.

"Introducing the opponent, from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 250lbs, he is the Apex Predator, Randy Orton!"

Randy wasted no time getting into the ring.

Randy catapulted out of the corner, tackling Dean to the ground. He punched and clawed at his head, trying to throw him off. At last, Randy retreated, which was a big mistake. Dean got up and knocked the Legend Killer to the ground, hoping that he hadn't broken his jaw. The crowd responded by cheering, wanting more action. And that's what Dean did.

Two minutes later, Randy had trapped Dean inside of a complex headlock. It was hard to break, but not impossible. His freedom didn't last long, however. Before he could even retaliate with a clothesline, Randy delivered an uppercut, which sent the Lunatic Fringe down to the mat once more. Playing opossum, before Randy could do more damage, Dean jumped up and did his usual round of punches to the face and slaps to the chest.

Ten minutes later, after two commercial breaks, the referee reminded them that there were only three minutes left before the match was over. Time slots were nuisance, but they had to be followed. Delivering a Dirty Deeds, Dean rolled Randy over for the pin. And with a one-two-three count, the match ended with one minute to spare. He went to the top rope and celebrated, egging on the crowd to become even louder and more vocal. They did, screaming louder than Dean could ever remember. It was a great feeling to win his first match after the bout he had with Kevin Owens and John Morrison...of which he lost thanks to Stephanie's henchmen.

It had been a very good match, becoming more popular than the actual main event(which followed afterwards), which consisted of Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler battling for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It was a rather poor match with literally the entire arena supporting Dolph. Not even Seth's fans were supporting him, which was rather sad, but given his status as a heel, rather funny in a mean-spirited way. It didn't really matter, though. There was talk of turning Seth babyface soon.

But the match between Kevin, John and Dean was considered to be a once-in-a-lifetime event. One of the most famous high flyers against one of the most dominant wrestlers from NXT against one of the most (if not the) most popular star on the main roster who is considered by many to be a little mentally unstable, it was match that shan't be forgotten. For nearly half an hour, the three men fought, giving it their all in the process. Dives from the top rope, blows with steel chairs, and amazing in-ring work built up to be one of the most interesting matches in history.

Dean had been closing in on a victory via pinfall when the lights flickered. Some people must've thought that the Undertaker showed up, but that wasn't the case. Brittany was lying in a heap near the time keeper's area. Before he could even attempt to call for help, from out of nowhere, Seth Rollins attacked Dean and brought J&J Security with him as well.

Wrapping an arm around her waist, Dean walked with Brittany up the ramp, ready to end the work night with a celebratory dinner. He held onto her, feeling a bit of nagging pain in his left knee. It wasn't anything new. People had taken to targeting that knee during matches.
