☆"You're Up Late."☆

Jake is laying in bed, scrolling on his phone. When he feels his boyfriend Carrington's arms wrap around his waist.

Carrington hugs Jake from behind and buries his face in Jake's neck, kissing it softly and smiling.

Jake mumbled, "Hi." As he is continuing to scroll. The clock on his phone said 4:45AM. Carrington was asleep before but woke up to Jake still being awake.

Carrington chuckled and pulled himself closer to Jake, nuzzling his neck again. "Hey, babe. You're up late."

"I haven't slept." Jake replied as he feels Carrington's curly hair tickle his neck. He fidgeted with his snakebites with his teeth as he is scrolling on his phone.

Carrington chuckled and moved to lie down beside Jake, still looking at him with concern."Babe, you really need to get some sleep. You look tired."

"I am. But my brain is awake." Jake said as he looked away from his phone. He looked at Carrington.

Carrington reached out and gently caressed Jake's cheek, his touch tender and affectionate."I know you have trouble sleeping sometimes, but you really need to rest. You can't just stay up all night."

"Yeah i know." Jake lightly pushed Carrington's hand away. Before he looked back at his phone and continued to scroll on the device.

Carrington pouted slightly as Jake pushed his hand away, but he didn't take it personally. He knew how stubborn Jake could be. "You're still going to be grumpy tomorrow if you don't get any sleep."

"Fuck, i know. Because if i sleep in past eight my entire day is gonna be screwy" Jake huffed. Worried now about his routine getting messed up.

Carrington chuckled softly and scooted closer to Jake, wrapping his arms around him again."You worry too much about your routine, babe. One night of sleep isn't going to ruin everything."

"Babe, if i sleep now and sleep past eight then my day is gonna be whack" Jake repeated, more desperate this time. It was obvious his routine really means a lot to him.

Carrington sighed, realizing that Jake was serious about his routine. He gently took the phone out of Jake's hand and placed it on the nightstand. "Babe, I get that your routine is important to you, but your health is more important. You need to rest."

"Well what time is it?" Jake asked.

Carrington glanced at the clock on the nightstand. "It's 4:50, babe."

"So then I'll get.. how many hours of sleep if i go to bed right now?" Jake asked. "I can't do mental math."

Carrington chuckled and ran his fingers through Jake's hair. "If you go to bed right now, you'll get around three hours of sleep. Which is not enough, but it's better than nothing."

"Okay because i have to get up at eight so my routine isn't messed up" Jake said, but he needed more sleep than that.

Carrington sighed again, knowing that Jake wasn't going to budge on this."Babe, three hours isn't enough. You're going to be exhausted and grumpy all day if you only get three hours of sleep. Can't you just skip your routine for one day?"

Jake suddenly looked anxious and he sat up. Gripping at his hair as he began to feel suddenly overwhelmed.

Carrington immediately noticed the change in Jake's demeanor and sat up as well, concerned. "Hey, hey, it's okay. What's wrong?" He asked gently, placing a hand on Jake's shoulder.

"I don't know if i can do that," Jake said. "Cuz what if my entire week gets ruined just because of one day?" Jake flopped back on the bed. "My routine is very important to me, Carrington. You know that"

Carrington nodded, understanding how important Jake's routine was to him."I know, babe. I know how much your routine means to you. But one day off won't ruin your whole week. Your health is more important than your routine."

Jake stared at Carrington with wide eyes.

Carrington mentally facepalmed himself, realizing how important this really was. He scooted closer to Jake and gently took his hand.

"Babe, Jake, I know it's hard for you to change from your routine, But I promise, one day off won't ruin your week. We can still stick to some of your routine, but you really need to get some sleep."

Jake sighed, he began to squeeze and fidget his hands. Flicking his fingers and rubbing them together.

Carrington noticed Jake's nervous fidgeting and squeezed his hand reassuringly. "It's okay, babe. I'm here. Just breathe. We'll figure it out, okay?"

"Just one day," Jake laid back down, pulling the blanket over him.

Carrington smiled and lay down next to Jake, pulling him close. "Just one day, I promise. You'll feel better after some sleep." He said softly, stroking Jake's hair gently.

"It just it's a sudden change, I don't know." Jake sighed.

Carrington continued to stroke Jake's hair, trying to soothe him."I know it's a big change, but it's for your own good. You need to take care of yourself, babe. You can't just run on three hours of sleep."

Jake nodded in understanding. He sighed, "I'm sorry I'm so difficult to deal with."

Carrington shook his head and gently cupped Jake's face in his hands."You're not difficult to deal with, babe. I understand, Jake. I know it's hard for you to deviate from your routine, and I'm here to support you through it. You don't have to apologize for being yourself."

Jake looked up at Carrington. His eyes having dark circles. He really needed sleep.

Carrington looked down at Jake with concern, noticing the dark circles under his eyes. He gently stroked Jake's cheek with his thumb."You really do need to sleep, babe. You look exhausted."

Jake nodded. He laid back down and his head onto Carrington's chest. He closed his eyes.

Carrington wrapped his arms around Jake and held him close, gently rubbing his back. "Try to get some rest, okay? I'll be right here."

Jake eventually fell asleep.

Carrington watched as Jake finally fell asleep, a small smile on his face. He gently kissed the top of Jake's head and held him close, making sure he was comfortable.

As Carrington watched Jake sleep, he couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over him.

He knew that Jake was struggling with the change in routine, but he was glad that he was finally getting some much-needed rest.

He gently brushed a strand of hair away from Jake's face and whispered softly.

"Sleep well, babe. I love you."
