As I walked towards the dungeon, to Snape's potions class, my heart did a triple backflip. Walking in front of me, was Draco Malfoy. His gelled back blond hair, slightly ruffled as he walked. I could just picture him, in front of the mirror in the morning, smoothing it back. It was only in my wildest dreams, that he did it for me.
We reached the door, and Draco pulled it open. Crab and Goyle snickered, as they saw him look back at me. He held open the door, and allowed me to walk in after him. My stomach lurched. Draco, was doing something nice for me. I smiled at him, but noticed his eyes were somewhere else. Behind me, was Pansy Parkinson, blowing Draco a kiss. My heart dropped. It wasn't for me. I blushed, as I hurried to my seat next to Harry.
"Hermione Granger. Arriving to class after Harry Potter. I never thought I'd see the day." He joked. I stared at him coldly, rolling my eyes. I turned to the front, and saw Snape looking towards me, smirking. Something told me he knew, he knew the way I felt about Draco. I put down my head, and stared at the ground. If Harry ever found out how I felt, I had no idea what would happen. Draco tortured him; no. I couldn't tell him. Especially if Draco didn't feel the same way. There would be no point.
"Hermione." Snape drooled from above me. I whipped my head up, to see Snape's cold black eyes, staring me down.
"Are you going to answer me?" He asked sharply. I felt my face go red. It was so uncommon for me to miss a question, even in Snape's class. Snape turned away, moving back toward the chalkboard.
"What's up Hermione? You. You've been acting pretty strange." Harry asked me purely out of care.
"Oh Harry, you know, with exams coming up, nothing's going in my head and staying there." I quickly responded, snapping her head away, making eye contact with Draco. My stomach fluttered, as I quickly looked at the ground. Not only was he a Slytherin, but he didn't like me. It would never work.

I walked over to the Gryffindor table. I hurried, avoiding the Slytherin table. I squeezed in between Harry and Ron, piling potatoes onto my plate.
"Woah slow down there Hermione. " Ron blurted at me. I looked over and noticed his plate, full of meat. I rolled my eyes, allowing my head to turn slightly towards the Slytherin table. I met eyes with Draco. He was looking at me. I blushed, and dug into my potatoes. I couldn't help but let my eyes wander. His grey eyes glittered. He walked and talked with such confidence, like he knew everything. His hair. Oh his hair. If anyone was perfect, hell it was him.
"Uh Hermione, I may need some help after with my essay from Snape. I'm a little uneducated on the topic of slug feet" Harry laughed nervously. I looked towards him, nodding in what he thought was approval, but was majorly agreement.
"I'm going to go study." I told the boys. They rolled their eyes, silently snickering. I stood up, and made my way to the Gryffindor common room. After exiting the Great Hall, I let out a sigh. Every minute I was in the same room as Draco, I was tense. A crack sounded behind me. I whipped around my head, to a wincing Draco, in the middle of a step.
"Wh.. What are you doing?" I asked him. He nervously laughed, racking his brain for something to say.
"I uh, was done with dinner..." He unconvincingly responded. I blushed, and turned around to keep walking.
"Hey, Hermione." He called after me "I, wanted to tell you, that I think." He stopped for a moment "I wanted to know if you would help me some time with my homework?" He asked me. My heart stopped. Was the most confident Slytherin in the whole school, asking me to voluntarily meet?
"Yes. Of course." I responded. He turned, and walked away quickly. My cheeks were burning. I turned away, and ran up to the Gryffindor common room.
