Chapter 2: A Brutal Discovery

Violet and Tilla decided to secretly follow the officials taking Neon because something doesn't seem right. They followed them onto a train, hiding in the shadows. Finally, they reached Central City.

The Alpha Corporation building is huge! Ten stories high with lots and lots of windows. Violet and Tilla saw Neon go in to the building, and when they tried to get in, they got stopped. "State your business coming here." a guard told them.

"We....umm...uh..." Violet stammered. "If you don't have a reason coming here, then leave." Sadly, they walked away. "I'm not good at lying." Violet confessed. "Me either." Tilla agreed. "I hope Neon's going to be okay in there. Stay strong, Neon."

Meanwhile, back at Maverick Hunters HQ, Alia was hard at work researching about Alpha Corporation. "What are you guys up to now?" she thought. Then, something popped up on the monitor. "Guys, I think you need to see this." she said, reading the info. X, Zero, Axl, and Signas came over to see what she has.

"What's up Alia?" X asked. "I have some info concerning the Alpha Corporation." Alia answered. "It says they have taken a young Reploid who goes by the name, Neon, and they want to examine her because she has a secret power that could put an end to all Mavericks."

Everyone was shocked. "Is there any info that tells a little more about her?" Zero asked. "Yes. It says she was created by a scientist who used to work for Repliforce. Unfortunately, he died not too long after she was created. It is unknown what her secret power is. If I'm right, something tells me Alpha Corporation might know the answer."

Zero was completely shocked. Axl had no idea what Repliforce is, so X explained it to him. On the monitor, Zero was looking at a picture of Neon. She has such a striking resemblence to Iris. Bam! He had a flashback of Iris.  He thought, "Iris...No! I gotta stop thinking about her! She's gone and that's that!"

Signas told Zero, "Zero, go investigate around Alpha Corporation to see what they're up to, and look out for guards." Zero nodded as he headed off on his mission.

Back at Alpha Corporation, Neon had to walk down many halls and up many stairs. "Whew! This is getting exhausting!" she thought. She didn't want to sound annoyed but she asked, "Are we there yet?" "Not yet." one of the officials answered. She sighed in disbelief.

In the meantime, Zero was secretly spying around Alpha Corporation. "Man, why are there so many guards?" he thought. Then, looking through a glass window, he saw a flash of pink. "I think I found her." Zero said to himself.

Now, they finally reached their destination. "Finally!" she thought. They walked inside to see a giant laboratory. Awaiting her was a tall, lanky Reploid who had purple and orange armor, and wore glasses. "Welcome. We've been expecting you." he said. "My name is Alfonzo, leader of Alpha Corporation."

Neon was looking around the place to see lots of special equipment and other scientists working on other stuff. "Do you like the place?" Alfonzo asked, shooing off the guards. "Umm...I guess." She answered, shyly. "Well then, I wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable when we examine you." he noted.

She was confused. "Exactly why do you want to examine me?" "What? No one told you?" he asked. "...No..." she answered. "Well, the reason why is because you have a very special power that we would like to have on our side." he answered, in a nice tone. A little too nice.

She stared at him. "What? What do you mean on our side? Aren't you the good guys too?" Neon quickly looked at where they were going to examine her to see a red tube labeled 'Maverick DNA'. Her eyes widened, and made a run for it.
