"Eliana, there's an argument with Richie at table 4." Sophia told me. She puts the dirty plates down on the counter and fixed her ponytail.

"The customer wanted something and he told them that we don't have it. Now they want to pick up a fight. Can you help?" She looked extra tired. She has bags under her eyes. Sophia was one of my closest friends when I got a job here at Charlie's Coffee.

"Sophia, I really think you should go home. You look very tired and I don't want you to feel super fatigued. I'll take care of the rest. Go home okay?" I went to the other side of the counter and picked up the dirty plates. I put them in the sink in the back for Arnold to wash.

He's the cleaner or whatever you want to call it.

I came back, rubbing my hands on my apron and leaning on the counter to face Sophia.

"Thanks so much. I owe you one." She smiled at me and went to the back to get her things. She came back with her purse, sweater and keys. She patted my head and went out the door.

I sighed looking at the time up at the wall.

9:23. We close up at 9:30.

"Let's get this over with." I whispered to myself.

I went over to table 4 and I see 25 to 28 year old looking men fishing for trouble. We had many of these people coming to our coffee shop. And I am annoyed by them.

There were a total of 4 guys. One was covered with tattoos. Even one on his face that looked like an upside down butterfly. Another had a hat on but was very quiet. The other two were just very scary looking.

"Hi, is there a problem?" I faced the two scary looking guys.

Shiver went down my spine.

"Tell me why, I told this skinny looking ass that I wanted a fucking croissant French toast, but ya'll don't got any?" One of the scary guys yelled out.

He shouted at my face like he thought I couldn't hear.

This motherfucker.

I tried my hardest not to blow.

"Sir, we ran out of French toast. We will be stocked full tomorrow, so please come back tomorrow. It's almost closing time as well." I tried smiling but didn't.

"I just came here! The fuck you telling me to leave when I just came here!"

"Yo Michael, calm down. Let's just leave this place." The guy with the hat finally said something.

They all got up. The guy who shouted at me pushes me to the ground. I knocked my head on the floor. Luckily I didn't pass out.

My head was kind of hurting though.

"I'm not done with ya'll bitch ass motherfuckers." Then they walked out the door. They shut the door so loudly that I could even feel the shop move under me.

"Wow, what a night." Richie helped me up. I dusted myself and sat in one of the booths.

I sighed. Thank God tomorrow's Saturday. I put my elbows on my knees.

"Yeah, I'm tired of those guys coming in and out and just wanting trouble. Can't they just order something else to go?" I groaned. My head was pounding.

"Hey, you alright?" Richie came over to me and kneeled down.

"Yeah, I'm fine I guess. Did they do anything to you?"

"Nah, I'm fine." He smiled up at me. I smiled back.

"Well it's closing time. I'll clean the floors." Richie stopped me midway while I was trying to get the mop.

"No, you go home. I'll clean. You had a roughy day. Plus get some Tylenol on your way home too." I looked at him. He looked so concern.

"No, Richie I can't let you clean all this by yourself." I protested.

"I got Arnold and Charlie. It's going to be fine." He smiled.

"Bu-"

"No buts. Go home and rest. I'll take care of everything. Don't worry." He shoved me to the back of the shop.

I nodded and got my things.

"Thanks, I owe you one." I smiled I headed out the shop.

I walked to Walgreens. I live in New York so I don't really think me needing a car was necessary. Plus my apartment to the coffee shop was just 2 miles away. I can just walk.

My usual route that I take is very complicated, but is the easiest and fastest way to get into my apartment.

Tonight I took another route to go to Walgreens. My head was hurting extremely bad now. I felt kind of dizzy.

I stopped in front of a big building. This made my head hurt. Looking up at the shiny and ginormous place I felt like was floating. I faced a guy who was talking to his cell phone.

He stopped when he saw me.

I stared at me.

I took a step forward.

I tripped on something.

The next thing I knew the whole city had a blackout.
