"Enough, Uncle!"
The hall fell silent at the loud voice.
Randheer stood at the entrance in all his glory, his presence commanding every eye in the room as he strode forward to Parthvi cupping her face in his palms.
"Kya hua? Aap batayiye!" his voice unusually gentle. Tears slipped from Parthvi's bloodshot eyes, her voice betraying her as she tried to speak. Her fingers trembling as she held his wrists.
(What happened? Tell me!)
Randheer's heart ached at her sight, rage filling his vein as he turned to Saransh.
"She was with me, then cheated and now is marrying you for power and money!" Saransh sneered and Randheer's jaw tightened his rage now barely restrained.
"I am sorry Veer uncle I truly respect you and loved your daughter but she is just a characterless gold dig....." Saransh continued turning to Veer masking his facade of victim.
"Mind your words, Shukla. I don't take kindly to people pointing fingers at what's mine." Randheer's voice was deadly as he continued. "And tell me, exactly how many gold mines do you own for her to dig from?"
"Randheer, you can't disrespect him when he's not wrong!" Sangeeta stepped in"Not wrong, huh? Seriously?" Randheer scoffed "You don't know anything." She said disappointed.
With a dismissive nod Randheer turned to the Rathod's. "Humein sab pata tha. Humne sab jaante hue is rishte ke liye haan ki thi."
(I knew everything. And I still agreed to this marriage.)
"He is the one who shattered her, the one who unearthed gold here. He was reaping all the benefits until his father demanded he either marry as per his will or leave the house! Being responsible playing victim! How dare he raise a finger and degrade my fiance like this!" Randheer's voice seethed.
Parthvi's gaze flickered to him her expression filled with both admiration and silent gratitude. Yet, the very next words from Sangeeta shattered her once more.
"I am sorry, Veer Bhaiya but after everything that has happened today, we can no longer accept Parthvi as our daughter-in-law!" Veer lowered his gaze while Nakul glanced at his wife with disbelief.
Parthvi, pressed by the weight of the situation, jerked her hand free from Randheer's warm hold running out of the hall.
"This was the last thing needed, Maa!" Randheer inhaled sharply in frustration "Khair karo tumhari tara gire hue nahi hai warna yahi jaan lelete, dhundhne se bhi nahi milte gae kaha tum!"
(Don't bother I am not as low as you, otherwise, I would have taken your life right here and you would have not been found even if searched!)
With a last glare he ran after Parthvi calling her name repeatedly but her steps didn't faltered as she disappeared in the corridors.
