A Handful of a Christmas

Tomorrow is a special for everyone in Fiore, there's no mistaking it, tomorrow is christmas day! On of the greatest holidays of the year, and every year Fairy Tail holds its yearly Christmas Party! Unfortunately Lucy wasn't feeling very merry about it, this was her first year to spend christmas in Fairy Tail, but when she lived used to live with her father they never celebrated christmas together because he was always too busy, so she always spend christmas with her spirits and servants. It was nice spending time with them but it never filled the hole in her.

Lucy decided it would be best to spend christmas alone at home, she didn't want to bother everyone's fun by doing nothing there, she had something important to do anyway.Lucy went christmas shopping and bought presents for everyone before she sends christmas alone for another year.

At the guild everyone was setting up decorations for the party tomorrow night, Erza got back from getting the christmas tree and it was huge, Juvia and Levy were hanging the streamers,the holly, and the paper snowflakes, Mirajane and Lisanna was making the food while kana handled the drinks. Some of the boys were helping with the decorations inside and outside the guild,Natsu, Gray, and Happy were putting up the decorations outside, Wendy and Charles were helping put ornoments on the tree with Gajeel, Pantherlily, and Romeo, the rest of the guild went christmas shopping.

Mirajane was taking a break from the cooking for a while, then she saw Lucy coming in with a bag full of presents.


Lucy: "Hey Mira."

Mira: "Thats a lot of presents Lucy you must of spent a lot of money on these."

Lucy: "I did, my landlady gave me a discount on my rent as a christmas gift so I had enough money to buy everyone a present and its only 6:00 in the afternoon, I should have enough time to get home before it starts snowing again, see ya Mira."

Mira: "Wait Lucy, aren't you going to help decorate the tree its really fun and I have a very special decoration you can hang during the party tomorrow."

Lucy: "Its getting late right now Mira and I should be getting home, and the thing is Mira...."(whispers)

Mira: "WHA-mmff."


Lucy covered Mirajane's mouth before she got the guild's attention or worse Natsu's. Lucy told Mira that she wasn't coming to the party and was staying home for christmas.


Lucy: "Quiet down Mira, I don't want anyone to know about it and put their spirits down and besides its still a party without me in it."

Mira: "But Lucy-"

Lucy: "I'm sorry Mira but I can't come."

Mira: "Lucy I think you should really reconsider."

Lucy: "Bye Mira."

Mira: (This is bad really bad!)


Before Lucy left she placed her presents under the tree and left through

the door. Once she was outside she noticed Natsu,Happy, and Gray were decorating on the roof with a lot of christmas lights and streamers.


Lucy: "Hey guys!"

Natsu,Happy: "Hey Lucy!"

Gray: "Did you come to help."

Lucy: "No I was just heading home."

Natsu,Happy: "Can we come!"

Gray: "Hey you two still have to help."

Natsu: "Why should I listen to you ice pop."

Happy: "Yeah we want to go with Lucy."

Gray: "Because you two still have to help!"

Wendy: "Gray why are you talking to yourself?"

.

Gray: "Huh?"


Gray looked around and couldn't find Natsu and Happy, he also noticed that Lucy was already gone to.


Gray: "No reason Wendy."(Those idiots got away just to hang with Lucy and leave me to do their work, they'll pay.)

Wendy: "Hey Charles, does Gray look mad?"

Charles: "By the look on his face I say yes."


- At Lucy's Apartment -


Lucy: "I can't believe you guys just left Gray to do your work just to come follow me home."

Natsu: "Because you're more fun to hang around then icepick over there."

Happy: "Aye."

Lucy: (sigh) "Aren't you guys afraid Erza will find out and get you both."

Natsu: "A little but its worth hanging out with you Lucy."

Happy: "Aye, its true."

Lucy: (Something's not right, they're being too considerit even for them, they probably did something or want something.) "Well I'm going to make something to eat, you guys want some."

Natsu,Happy: "Yes please!"


- At the guild -


Everyone: "WHAT!"

Levy: Lu-chan's not coming!"

Lisanna: "This is bad."

Erza: "Find him before he finds out."

Everyone: "Aye sir!"

Juvia: "Juvia doesn't understand, is something wrong?"

Mira: "Let me explain, you see a few years ago before Lisanna was gone, Natsu gets a little....clingy during christmas."

Maco: "Clingy! The boy's psychotic!"

Wakaba: "Very true."

Reduss: "Wee."

Mira: "You see when some of us don't show up to celebrate christmas at the guild, he'll make sure we come or get mad at us for not spending christmas like a family."

Levy: "One time when Gray went on a mission on christmas day Natsu didn't talk or fight with him for a week."

Gajeel: "Didn't think the salamander would do that."

Kana: "When I went on a date on christmas, during the time we had dinner, I went to the bathroom and Natsu sneak attack me and dragged me back to the guild making me leave my date."

Juvia: "Juvia is starting to understand now."

Erza: "Thats why we gotta find him before he finds out Lucy's not coming."

Gray : "Hey guys I'm done with the decorations, it took me a long time because that flame idiot and stupid cat ditched their job just to follow Lucy to her apartment, leave me doing part of their work, I'm going to get them for this when they get back."

Everyone: "WHAT!!!"

- At Lucy's Apartment -


Lucy was cooking in the kitchen making ramen for her, Natsu , and Happy to eat.When she was cooking Happy came in with a worried look.


Happy: "Hey Lucy."

Lucy: "Don't worry Happy the food is almost done, is there something you want."

Happy: "You don't have any plans on christmas do you?"

Lucy: "No not really, why you ask?"

Happy: "No reason."


After that he went back to Natsu in her room.


Lucy: "I wonder what that was about."



After a few minutes Lucy finished cooking and took out three bowls and placed them on a tray with three set of chopsticks.Once she was done she went back to her room and set the food on the table with Natsu and Happy.


Natsu: "Thanks for the food Lucy."

Happy: "Aye."

Lucy: "No problem guys, its been a while since I made a home cooked meal for someone. Now lets dig in."

Natsu,Happy: "Aye!"


- 5 minutes later -


Natsu: "That was really good."

Happy: "Aye it was."

Natsu: "Can I have another serving."

Lucy: "You already had four servings Natsu don't you ever get full."

Natsu: "Not when its your cooking."

Happy: "Aye."

Lucy: (sigh) "Well I'm flattered you liked it but shouldn't you two be heading home it getting late and-"

Natsu: "Can't we stay the night Lucy"

Happy: "Please Lucy."

Lucy: (Not the puppy dog eyes, you can resist Lucy!) "Fine."

Natsu,Happy: "Yeah!"

Lucy: (They'll never change.)


Before they got a chance to get on her bed there was a knock on the door.


Lucy: "Who could be visiting at this hour?"
Happy: "Maybe its santa."

Lucy: "Its not christmas yet Happy and he comes down a chimney not a door."


Lucy began to walk to the door to see who was there, Natsu and Happy just ignored it and went to her be, when Lucy opened the door it was Erza and Levy.


Lucy: "Hey Erza, hey Levy-chan what are you two doing here its a little late for a visit, well not for Natsu and Happy for some reason."

Levy: "Well thats why we're here."

Erza: "Are Natsu and Happy with you?"


Lucy notice that Natsu and Happy hid under her covers hiding from Erza's rath.


Lucy: "If this is about Natsu and Happy ditching Gray with the decorations I let them follow me home so please do punish them."

Levy: "Actually we were wondering what are you planning to do on christmas."


Natsu and Happy took out their heads from the blanket after they heard what Levy said.


Lucy: "I see, well I really don't have any for christmas, why you ask

Levy: "No reason."

Natsu: "How about we walk to the party together tomorrow Lucy."

Happy: "Aye."

Lucy: "umm."

Levy: (Oh no.)

Erza: (this is bad.)

Lucy: "Actually Natsu, I was going to stay home for christmas and I hope you understand."

Natsu: "......"

Lucy: "Natsu?"

Levy: "This isn't good."

Erza: "I agree."

Happy: "Aye."

Natsu: "HAHAHA, thats a good one Lucy."

Lucy: (He thought I was joking.)

Levy,Erza: (Idiot.)

Natsu: "Lets go home Happy, see you at the party tomorrow Lucy."

Happy: "Aye sir."

Lucy: "Natsu wait-"


But by then he had already left through her window and left befor Lucy had a chance to convince she wasn't joking.


Lucy: "What just happen?"
Erza: "Allow me to explain."


- 5 minutes later -


Lucy: "So thats why he was acting delusional."

Erza: "Pretty much."

Levy: "So will you reconsider coming Lu-chan."

Lucy: "I'm sorry but I can't there's something really important that I have to do. Please understand guys."

Erza: "We understand Lucy, but the person you be worried about is Natsu."

Lucy: "I know, can you guys try to distract him so he doesn't notice I'm not there."

Erza: "Of course."
Levy: "We'll try Lu-chan."

Lucy: "Thanks guys."


- Time skim Christmas morning XD -


It was around 9o am Christmas morning, Lucy was finishing taking a shower and was dressing up in formal attire, along black dress, a warm black coat, and black gloves, she grabbed two bundles of flowers she had on her table and headed out the door.



- 10:00 am -


Everyone ( except Lucy) showed up at the guild and started partying once they got there. Music was playing, people partying and dancing, playing outside in the snow, everyone eating and drinking, and the rest goes on. Natsu notice that Lucy hasn't shown up yet and was starting to get curious why she hasn't came yet. Levy, Erza, and Mirajane notice that Natsu was getting suspicious about Lucy not being here and had to think of something fast.


Levy: "We have to think of something."

Erza: "Any ideas Mira."

Mira: "Sadly...no."

Levy: "Can't you transform into Lucy."

Mira: "Even if I could he'll know its me."

Levy: "Right his sense of smell."

Erza: "Well we have to think of something soon."


- with Lucy -


Lucy was waiting for the train to arrive, she looked at the time and it was already 10:20 am but she didn't mind waiting, she was willing to take her time and hope Natsu and the others were having a good time partying, She also bought a few things before she got to the train station, By then the arrived.


- 5:00 pm -


Natsu was getting really suspicious right now, Lucy hasn't shown up for the past few hours yet, he's been waiting for her to show up through that door wearing something nice like she always does and hang out with him all day, was she really serious about not coming, he couldn't except that. He got up from the table and headed for the door heading straight to her apartment and bring her butt over here and spend time together whether she wants to or not.Mira noticed and to think of something quick then she got an idea even Natsu couldn't resist.


Mira: "Hey everyone I have an announcement!"


Everyone turned their attention to Mirajane, Natsu tried to ignore her and head out the door.


Mira: "For a special treat this year, we're opening our presents early this year!"


Everyone started cheering for joy, Natsu paused for a minute and thought either bring Lucy here by force or open his presents first, it was a tough decision so far but the choice was obvious so he ran out the door.


Mira: (Well that didn't work, but its so cute he chose Lucy first.)^-^


- 5:20 pm -


Natsu arrived at Lucy's apartment and began to look for her, so far she wasn't in the shower, not in the kitchen, and not in the bed, in other words, she got away. Natsu began to track her down like a bloodhound and bring her butt to the guild.


- 6:00 pm -


Natsu just got out of the train, trying to recover from his motion sickness, it took him a while for him to walk straight but he was fine so far. After a few minutes he was back to normal and ready to bring her to the guild, he found her sent again and began running.


- 6:30 pm -


It took Natsu a while but he finally tracked her down, he looked around his surroundings and notice that Lucy entered a graveyard where she visited her mom and dad last time, when he found Lucy she had just placed some flowers on her parents grave and some other stuff for them.


Lucy: "Hey mom...hey dad....I just wanted to come to visit you guys and wish you merry christmas before I spend christmas alone....I know what you're thinking, I should be spending christmas with everyone at the guild and having fun....I guess I'm just used to spending christmas alone without you guys to spend it with."

Natsu: (Lucy.) "You know it doesn't have to be that way Lucy."

Lucy: "N...Natsu...when did you..get here?"

Natsu: "Don't cry Lucy, you know it doesn't suit you best. You don't have to spend christmas alone Lucy you have me and everyone at the guild."


Lucy hugged Natsu for saying that, she was glad he was always there for her, thats one of the reasons why she loved him but she didn't have the courage to tell him.


Lucy: "Thanks for always being there for me Natsu."(blushing)


Natsu hold her tighter giving her warmth from the snow and another reason he enjoys holding her.


Natsu: "Anytime Lucy, I'll always be here for you."

Lucy: "I know you will."

Natsu: "Lets go, everyone waiting for us at the guild, they're already opening presents without us."

Lucy: (idiot.) "Okay Natsu, Lets go home."

Natsu: "Yea!!!"


- Time skim -


After they got back Natsu ran to the tree to open his presents and dragged Lucy with him.


Lucy: "Natsu relax they're not going anywhere."

Natsu: "I know, but I want to open our presents together."

Lucy: (He'll never change.)

Natsu: "Here open my present first and then I'll open yours."(blushing)

Lucy: "Fair enough."

Happy: "Lucy! You came after all!" (Hugging her)

Lucy: "Hey Happy, Did you like the present I made."

Happy: "Aye thank you Lucy, have fun."

Natsu: "Open my present Lucy."

Lucy: (giggle) "Okay Natsu."


Lucy open her gift and was surprise, it was the most beautiful thing she has seen. It was necklace of a red dragon holding a golden key.


Lucy: "Oh Natsu, I love it. Did you make it yourself?"

Natsu: "Yeah I did, it took me a while to find the material,but I'm glad you love it Lucy." (blushing)

Lucy: "Here, open mine."


Natsu began to unwrap his present, he was a bit surprised but he like the title.


Lucy: "You always say that you don't like fairy tales were they kill the dragon so I made a story completely different for you."

Natsu: "Thanks Lucy I'm sure I'll love it."


The book was titled The Princess and Her Dragon. After they finished opening their presents they spend most of the day together until something unexpected happen.


Mira: "Ohh Lucy~."

Lucy: "Yeah Mira."


Mira pointed above Lucy and Natsu, Lucy looked up and was blushing like tomorrow. Natsu didn't understand what was going on, so he looked up to and was surprised himself but in a happy way.


Mira: "You know the tradition you guys~."

Lucy: (She planned this. I've should have known.)

Natsu: "You heard her Lucy its tradition."

Lucy: (Is he serious!)


Before Lucy could respond to what he just said he kissed her, Lucy was shock and her face was completely red, she didn't think Natsu would ever kiss her except in her dreams.


Natsu: "See Lucy that wasn't so bad and also, I want to say I..I..lo-"


Before he could even tell her she completely fainted right on the spot.


Natsu: "Mira! I broke Lucy!"

Mira: (And he was so close to.) "Might as well take her home Natsu."

Natsu: "Okay, Bye Mira."


Everything happen so fast for Lucy to cope with but she knew what Natsu was going to say and she couldn't be more happier in her life, this was one handful of a Christmas.


Lucy: (I love you to Natsu.)
